Well its been a month since we entered 2022. So far so good. Been a busy month with work and such. Helped deliver 2 baby's into the world. Worked hard out in the gas and oilfield. Seen some new technology out there that is helping us reduce our foot print and protect the environment. Helped do some reclaiming of old oil sites. We went in and dug up around the wellhead about 15 feet into the ground. Cut the well head and the pipe off and capped it. Before we got there they had poured about 200 meters of cement into the pipe to make sure it was sealed along with what they called plugs deeper into the hole. Once the pipe was capped we refilled the hole. Earlier we had a specialized company come out and take approx. 300 test samples of the soil within 500 meters of the well head for testing looking for any contaminates. Anywhere there was a positive result this spring we will be returning to dig up that dirt and send it to a special facility for disposal / cleaning. We will be replacing that dirt with fresh new dirt. Then tree planters will be coming in and planting a ton of new saplings and then it will be monitored for awhile while the trees grow. We have about 500 more wells to do which should take about a year to do. Its great to see how much the oilfield and company's here have changed and actually do care about the environment. One of the bigger changes I have noticed since starting this career in the oil patch is instead of doing single well pads, we have now gone to multi well pads (anywhere between 3 to 18 wells on one pad) which is making smaller footprint out in the forests. It will also be easier once the wells are done to be reclaimed easier.
Anyways just wanted to make a quick blog. I am hoping to at least do this at the end/beginning of every month just to kinda log what type of month I have had.
Thank you everyone for the emails and DM's. You all bring a big smile to this lonely and shy guy. It truly is appreciated.
