March 12: St. Louis, MO @ The Firebird with DEFCON, Murder Happens, and Vice Grip
March 16: Chicago, IL @ Double Door with Violet Winter, Social Focus, and Apollo Quad
If you're in any of those cities and interested in coming, let me know so I can get you on our very limited guest list.

I'm Finally Returning to the Stage, Bass in Hand
I haven't posted for a while because far too many things have been in the works (and Twitter has, you know, robbed me of my desire to blog). This will be a short one because I still have to pack and we're leaving for Chicago early tomorrow.
I'm now playing bass in something like five bands. They're all related and connected to a single industrial label (more on that later) and feature many of the same members. My new main gig is sixfingerspread and we have some music up and floating about the interwebs (specifically here).
My writing partner t. smith has a band called mindFluxFuneral and he asked me to join up as their bass player, something they've never had before. How could I possibly say no?
My first show with mindFluxFuneral will be in Chicago this Thursday, November 4th. We'll be opening for Genitorturers at Reggie's Rock Club.
Also playing will be Mary magdaLan and Alex Zelenka.
For tickets (and more information) please visit ticketweb. This is an 18+ show.
If you're not going to be in Chicago on Thursday, please forward this information to someone who will, someone who likes their industrial violent, loud, bloody, and larger than life.

Bocuse d'Or Weekend
Amy and I spend the first weekend of September in Yountville, California at events designed to support the Bocuse d'Or USA team. It was amazing and something we'll never experience again (Thomas Keller catered to us, cooked for us, fed us). We then drove to the coast so we could travel the PCH down to San Francisco, and at our arbitrarily picked coastal site (Bodega Head) we saw whales migrating North to their breeding grounds.
It was a once in a lifetime experience, and we took a heroic pile of pictures in an attempt to document it. We did a poor job capturing the scope, but perhaps it'll give you an idea.
Below are a few of my favorite images from the collection.

Love-Makin' Music
I'm currently taking an online slap bass course in order to improve my playing, and while I've learned quite a bit the chief result is that I seem to be recording music for some freak-nastification.
Here are my last two assignments. Feel free to make the lovin to these. Please share if you do.

Tony & Tia's Wedding
This past Saturday Amy and I went to her cousin Tony's wedding. With all the relatives and professionals wandering around with cameras I figured I could take some artsy fartsy photographs and if I got lucky maybe they'd have some different looking images of their day.
With a couple of them I think I got lucky.

EYEBROWS!

It's been a year of tragedy and hardship, so it was stunningly wonderful to wander out to our pasture and find this serious little one.
