Broken hearts are the most beautiful kind, you get to hope that you are the grain of sand. That one piece that in all the times the heart has been mended has been too little to find. Yet there you are, the littlest and most important piece; the piece that makes it whole.
You know, you have to stop picturing it as if there are walls to be broken down. See her as someone sitting in a corner with her back to it and her arms wrapped around her as tightly as she can. You have to work your way behind her and get her into your lap and then gently work her arms loose entwining yours with hers so that you are both holding her. That way you won't make a false move because you will be so conscious of how your actions effect her.
Also, don't be so conscious of the idea of a "happily ever after" because in the world this was introduced to, too many inferred "happy ending" from this phrase. This gave way to the thought of "the end" before the beginning or middle were experienced. This thought of the end, before the experience truly ruins the possibility of what it could become. There should be a beginning, no matter how rocky or rough and a middle; with no end in sight.
(You may have seen the one thing before, but it's one of my favorites and I think it fits so well with the other two that they feel almost like a whole sentiment about relationships and dealing with the hurt and broken, though we ar all broken in some way these days)
