Holy shit am I pumped up to see the Sin City movie coming out on April 1st! Sin City was, by and large, one of the most influential comic stories I've ever read when I was 18, it's stark black-and-white contrast and use of negative space of the panels; plus its gritty and thick dialogue really opened my eyes to a completely new world of comics. And I've heard nothing but awesome things about it; the shots I've seen in the previews were almost literally ripped out of the panels and put on screen; it gave me goose bumps. April 1st can't come soon enough! Rrrraaaaagh!
I'm working on a T-shirt design for my comic book, also today I'll be adding some stickers and buttons to buy from my Cafe Press shop. I wish I knew more about website design, I'd love to insert some HTML to my Cafe Press store but I'm lacking in that area of knowledge.
My roommate returns from his 10-day vacation in Germany on Monday, I'm sure he'll have ten thousand stories to tell me. I could have went too, but I decided to save the money for a printing bill for my comic. I still haven't heard word back from distribution, and I'm getting really mad. I called up one place and left a message, naturally with no reply. Did they just throw my solicitation in their "circular file"? Did I miss something crucial? I don't know, and I'm losing patience. How am I supposed to sell this if distributors won't carry my book?
By the way - I saw The Ring Two. It was about as half as good as the first one; I recommend waiting until it comes out on DVD. The scares were okay, sometimes they were predictable so you didn't jump at all. The special effects were good, except for one near the end that was just bad CGI; that almost completely ruined the movie for me. If it wasn't for Naomi Watts and the kid (whoever the fuck his name is)'s performance, this movie would have been just God awful. I'd give the flick 2-and-a-half stars out of 5. Save your money for Sin City!
