Its official. I've been hired as day hab coordinator. They bumped me up 2 pay grades based on my experience (and the fact my resume was out with other, similar nearby orgs) and waved the 90 day probationary period before which I wouldn't yet be eligible for medical and 401k. They didn't just hire me... they practically begged me to come work for them. =) Apartments I wasn't so lucky. There were two that I was mainly looking at, 1 was rented out the day before I came down, the other was no good. I've got a back up that will be OK and is available but its a bit more than I was looking to pay. Should be going down next week to complete some paperwork and when I do I'll have to check out a few more.
I went down a half day early so that I could get some "me" time. With all the busyness of winding up everything here and preparing to move I needed a chance to unwind and regroup. This is the park where I did so.
There was a downtown bookstore I dropped in to and grabbed a couple books. I can never walk by a new bookstore without going in. I can never go into a bookstore without buying something. Its just not possible. This is one of the two books I picked up. Will probably finish reading it sometime today.
Both nights I went out to eat with some old friends and to watch the Yankees-Orioles game. We won in extra innings both which made for some fairly late nights. At least for me who is usually at Planet Fitness by 6AM at the latest. Didn't do much of that either morning and now I'm playing catchup.

Interview went great. Not only did they offer me the job but they are looking at bumping me up two pay grades. 
All this is depending on refs and screening of course but no worries there.

I've got an interview on Wednesday, and looking at 2 apartments later in the same day. I'm soooooo ready to move.
Been busy moving so I haven't been on here much. Sorry's. I do try to get on to respond to any messages and to vote for my fave's MR sets, and read up on their blogs about once a week. I hate lurkers but I feel like I've become one. But that will change soon. Everything's all squared away and now, for the next 4 weeks, I can slowly move everything about 100 miles further south. Going back home.

I have a dream that I can take a walk with my brother (African-American) and my girlfriend (Philippina) and his girlfriend (Latina) anywhere we chose, even south of the Mason-Dixon line without turning heads. I dream that one day we can hold hands without seeing the smug looks from closet bigots. I have a dream that race and gender will one day not even be an issue with regards to relationships.
