I'm going home next week to enjoy a little R&R. I'm going to take my new bike on a ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway. My mom said the leaves are changing and it will be perfect timing for the fall colors. My buddy Adam and his wife are flying up from Miami to ride with me, along with the rest of my gang. We're not really a gang but we joke, we call ourselves, The Shit Magnets! I'm really looking forward to it. I have some great friends and it'll be good to spend some time just hanging out.

I really really hate cold weather! I always have. It was 32 degrees this morning and frost on everything. I will be so glad to be done with this project and get off this mountain. I'm really hoping I get to somewhere tropical on my next project.

I am about to quit the company I've been working for for the past 8 years. They just made a bunch of layoffs in the office and so I'm a little worried. The VP called me right after they told the unfortunate ones and assured me that they are going to keep me no matter what, that I would be the last project manager to be let go if it comes to that.

It sounded good to hear that but I'm not going to wait around to get laid off. I updated my resume and sent it out and in a week I got three offers. The problem now is where to go. The one for the most money is in South Korea, the next would be in China and the one I really want but is the lesser salary would be in Costa Rica. I've lived in China and it wasn't so bad and I'm thinking Korea would be about the same. I also lived in Costa Rica and absolutely loved it. I speak the language, I love the beach, and I've already been looking at buying property there.

I have a month to make up my mind.

story

I feel like I have a story to tell. Actually I feel like I have several stories to tell. Mainly about my life and some of my lifes adventures. Anyone that knows me knows that I like to talk about things in my life. That is to say most things.

There have been a few things in my life that I have not been able to talk about. I sometimes think it would be a good idea to get some of these stories out but then I get scared or embaressed and let the moment pass by. Maybe I'm not supposed to tell all my stories, maybe some are supposed to remain a secret.

I'm sure I will continue to tell stories about far off places or midnight rondevous, some funny and some really funny. And maybe one day when the moment is right I'll let out some of the other tales of life that I have inside me.

I might have fucked up at work yesterday. I told a subcontractor working for me that if he ever said another word about me I was going to fuck him up and put him in the ground. I think that could be taken as a threat. The guy is a complete asshole and has been talking shit about me and my guys for a month. I had a talk with him a few weeks ago and he seemed to be cool but yesterday I heard him talking and I lost it. The owners rep for the job had to grab me because I was about to unleash a serious ass beating on the fucker. I guess I will see what becomes of it in the next few days.

I said fuck it this afternoon and bought a plane ticket home for tomorrow. There's a party Saturday night and I'm going. I might even get drunk!

summer

As a teenager I always heard older people talk about how time was flying by. It just seemed like idle talk at the time but the older I get I have realized that time does seem to fly by. I swear it feels like Christmas was just a couple months ago. It always seems to go the fastest during the summer which sucks because that's the time of year I like the most. Even though I don't really get to enjoy normal vacations or family outings I love summertime. The thought of having a cookout and sitting around listening to good music and drinking a cold beer on a summer day sounds just about like perfection.

All in all it couldn't have gotten much better.

I am getting really antsy. I am going on vacation next week to South Beach Miami. This will the first real vacation I've ever had. Usually my vacations consist of me going home for a week beings that I work away from home 355 days out of the year. I think I have everything planned pretty well, I get to test ride my custom built motorcycle Friday, swim with dolphins and massages Saturday, Don Shula's Steakhouse Saturday night, Marlin's vs. Phillies Sunday afternoon (1st row behind home plate), the beach everyday and dancing and clubbing every night. I can't wait to get the hell away from work for five days and just hangout with a beautiful and funny girl that I'm in love with.
