After 9 1/2 weeks, 2 hospitals and 2 stays at the same rehabilitation hospital, dad is finally coming home.

Looks like things are going on hold for a little while (see previous post). My dad was put in the hospital last week and we found out that it is West Nile Virus. He has been in the ICU for 4 days now and and still on a ventilator. Were not sure how long his rehabilitation will be. He has at least gotten over the worst part, but still not over yet. It does not help that he is 72 years old and has Parkinson's. This will make the recovery a bit harder.

Update: Dad is out of ICU and will soon be transferred to a recovery hospital very soon. They say it might take up to a month before he maybe be able to come home. He has to learn how to walk again and also must have speech therapy so that he can better communicate.

Took a giant leap towards my dreams today.

And I hope to start production on the cookbook in 2 weeks. Once I get them started I am going to start doing farmers markets and start selling them and some of my goodies as samples. and from there the skies the limit.

Well I think its about time for an update. Finally getting a lot of work done on the cookbook, lost focus for awhile. Still have a few more new recipes to add and I have been filling some of the empty pages with helpful hints and stuff. I hope to have all the changes done soon then just need to nail down the cover. I have a friend working on it but not sure about the progress. The logo is cool but my Bakeryman character is nowhere near what I had asked for. Just hope I done need to find someone else at this time. I want to get this to press asap. I am thinking about pricing it between $20 to $25 and all the proceeds will be going towards getting my business started. I am finding that it is going to be way too expensive to open a full bakery on my own so I am going to start small and join the Mobile Gourmet Food scene here in the DFW area. I plan on serving gourmet brownies (the list is over 10 diff so far) gourmet cookies (9 so far), fancy cake slices and a few other things. I also want to offer coffee, espressos and such plus smoothies and other drinks. Still looking into the financials but it should be about 1/3 of the cost. Well thats it for now, need to get back to work on things.

Well its been 6 years since I put out my cookbook. I think its time to do a new one. Going to rework the old one and add more recipes and other tidbits. Will keep you posted.

Looks like I will be bringing in the New Year alone again.

I have come to a major decision. In the next year or so I WILL open my own bakery. I have decided to stop talking about it and just do it. I will do everything in my power to make this happen. Things have happened at work lately and I just can't keep putting up with it.
