So a while ago I made a list of 25 things that defined who I was and posted it on three of my blogs, I reread that today and found that most of that has changed. So without further ado, here are the [edited] 25 things that define my life.
The old list

1. I don't know who/what I am... I am Jace. That's it. Take it or leave it. This is me.
2. I get sick a lot, so often my parents probably think I fake it. But no, I'm actually just ill that often... Like right now, as I write this.
3. I know exactly what I want to do with my life. I want to Major in Political Science, and minor in Women's studies or GLBT studies, to go on to corporate law school, to be a lobbyist for non-profit organizations. I don't care how poor that will make me, I don't care if I die in poverty. I still dedicated my life to something important and I helped someone.
4. I'm insecure about not only the way I look, but I feel like everyone else around me is constantly criticizing me. And then when I find out I'm right, it really really bothers me. But I still continue to be myself.
5. It literally makes me sick when I hear someone say the word Faggot. Because here's the deal. That word means something created for the purpose of being burnt... (hence the reason it means cigarette in Britain) And when you call someone that you are telling them that they should be burnt. Okay now think about it, in your grand scheme of things, who's doing the burning? (this is the part where you make your own conclusions) And basically I don't think its okay for you to tell someone that they are destined for nothing more than eternal damnation.
6. If I've ever uttered the words I love you to you. I meant it. I say it a lot, in a lot of different ways but I meant it. and with that... If I've ever told you that, then even to this day I would drop anything for you. Even if you hate me now for something I did (or didn't do) I would still run to the end of the world for those of you that I love. Love doesn't end with me. Ever. So... and you know who you are... Stop trying to find things or assume that I'm out to get you, because I'm not. I would never do anything to make your life harder or even create the slightest discontentment in your life.
7. I'm lactose intolerant... but yes I do eat cheese, and ice cream a lot. I just generally deal with the consequences of my actions.
8. I'm a very protective person. Hurt the ones I love and you will not hear the end of it. That being said when I hurt the ones I love, I never forgive myself for it.
9. A lot of times I pretend to be sarcastic but actually tell you the truth. If I tell you you're being annoying and that I don't like you... I'm probably telling the truth unless otherwise stated.
10. My mom and I are extremely close. She is my best friend, I tell her everything... Always have. Don't tell me something if you don't want her to know.
11. I don't judge people based on their past.
12. I will judge your character based on how you currently treat the people around you, but I understand that people change and will always give you a chance to redeem yourself.
13. I forgive. Always, in fact I am almost always the first to forgive someone... And I don't get angry much. I may momentarily yell or get threatened, but I don't get angry... anger is a pointless emotion that gets nothing accomplished.
14. I love art. I paint, draw, sculpt, etc. But my favorite media is the rhythm of pen on paper as poetry is born.
15. I still play childhood games, and dwell on the past too much.
16. I grew up too fast.
17. Tuesdays I am with my family. No exceptions, ever. That is my time to salvage the little time we have left together while I still live here. Don't call me on Tuesday.. I will not be able to hang out or anything like that... If its important I will respond, and call you later, after my family stuff.
18. Forensics changed me. I used to be a really shy, and reserved kid. I didn't talk to people at school, and I didn't have friends. Speech and Debate gave me the ability to speak my mind, and talk to people not only in a formal setting but also informal.
19. I want tattoos and piercings more than you can believe. I want wings on my back.. (and not dumb wings, these are different and they mean something to me, the express who I am, and have symbols from my life in them that have affected who I am.) I want 5 chain link down my arm, one for each sibling, and then two small chain links at the top one for my nieces. I also want the phrase "and with my dying breath I whispered I love you" on me somewhere, because I think its important to tell those we care about that we love them. I want that to be the last words i speak to anyone, so if I love you, I will tell you before I leave/hang up/or walk away, just in case.
20. The phrase "Boys will be boys..." is not intelligent. You cannot excuse someone's behavior, and rudeness based on their gender. Allowing boys to be loud/obnoxious/rude etc. because they are boys is not okay.
21. Gender roles are obsolete in our society, so I don't abide by them.
22. Music has saved me, and I have yet to return the favor.
23. I feel that there is a dwindling respect for the arts in our world. And I mourn the loss of spoken/written word in our society. As well as the loss of respect for the purr of a violin, as it opens a symphony, the eloquence of a ballet dancer, the harmonies of an opera, and the message of paintings.
24. I'm going to have to spell check this before I post it, I have horrible spelling abilities. Second only to Gumpy. ( my step-mom's dad)
25. I love black licorice. Its the best

1. The person I am is defined by the many small things about the people in my life and the things I do. I am a soldier, an artist, a lover, a fighter, a friend and many other things all combined into one.
2. I get sick a lot, so often my parents probably think I fake it. But no, I'm actually just ill that often... Like right now, as I write this. [Still true, even right now]
3. Dreams and desires change, I currently want to be a bioenvironmental engineer, this is my career goal within the military, somewhere along this road I want to be a mother, nothing more, nothing less. Other than that I will take life as it comes.
4. If you don't like me the way I am, fuck off. I have dealt with eating disorders and phobias and fears my whole life. I'm done trying to please you.
5. It literally makes me sick when I hear someone say the word Faggot. Because here's the deal. That word means something created for the purpose of being burnt... Even if you hate me now for something I did (or didn't do) I would still run to the end of the world for those of you that I love. Love doesn't end with me. To those of you who have seen me fail or not live up to those standards I am sorry, it isn't that I don't love you, its that I have to start living for me.
7. I'm lactose intolerant... but yes I do eat cheese, and ice cream a lot. I just generally deal with the consequences of my actions.
8. I'm a very protective person. Hurt the ones I love and you will not hear the end of it. Part of living and loving is hurting others, once you accept that fate you will be able to love in an honest and healthy way.
This annoys me sometimes, I wish there were people in the world I trusted the way I do my Mom, I want a friend who I can just tell all the things I wouldn't ever dream of saying to my mom.
11. I judge people more than I'd like to. I'm done with second, or third, or fifth chances. Sorry Kyle. I'm done.
12. People change, but you will never be able to have the same relationship with someone after they have hurt you in some ways. Forgiveness is good, never forget.
13. I forgive. Always, in fact I am almost always the first to forgive someone... And I don't get angry much. I may momentarily yell or get threatened, but I don't get angry... anger is a pointless emotion that gets nothing accomplished. This is still true.
14. I love art. I paint, draw, sculpt, etc. But my favorite media is the rhythm of pen on paper as poetry is born.
15. I still play childhood games, and dwell on the past too much, it is my only way of recreating the purities in my life that I believe were robbed from me.
16. I grew up too fast.
17. I'm never home. I'd rather be smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee at the Meadowlark.
18. Forensics changed me. I used to be a really shy, and reserved kid. I didn't talk to people at school, and I didn't have friends. Speech and Debate gave me the ability to speak my mind, and talk to people not only in a formal setting but also informal.

I want 5 chain link down my arm, one for each sibling, and then two small chain links at the top one for my nieces. I have a tattoo of the prase Live Proud drawn up, I'm just waiting to be able to get it. I also want the phrase "and with my dying breath I whispered I love you" on me somewhere, because I think its important to tell those we care about that we love them. I want that to be the last words i speak to anyone, so if I love you, I will tell you before I leave/hang up/or walk away, just in case. I never said I love You to the man I referred to as Dad, it still eats at me.

21. Gender roles are obsolete in our society, so I don't abide by them.
22. Music has saved me, and I have yet to return the favor.
23. My involvement with slam poetry has restored my faith in the arts, I have watched the most obscure people walk unsuspecting into a poetry slam and be moved to tears.
24. I'm going to have to spell check this before I post it, I have horrible spelling abilities. Second only to Gumpy. ( my step-mom's dad)

I was agreeing with you about the burning part, just that 'fag' (as in cigarette) doesn't derive from 'faggots'.
