Girl's Day With Mom (awww)

First stop was the sewing and craft fair at Cal Expo today and although I appreciate quilting and look forward to learning it at some point, I was highly disappointed that 90% of this fair was all about it. No cross stitch. No embroidery. Few crafty things. And an occasional Sham Wow item.

Feeling like I really wanted a new...

Mani/pedi night while watching Dexter. I find it so odd that I relate to this character. Of course I'm no serial killer (or even regular killer) but his feelings and relationships with people are so familiar. Enough darkness for tonight.

Never seen Dexter before, but most of my office staff and nearly all my college students are crazy for that show. What the heck am I missing out on??? surreal
asphalt:
When you feel sympathetic and can actually identify with a serial killer, the writing is genius! Dexter also has a quirky, almost fun side to him that makes him endearing in a way.

My heart is breaking. After 75 years of teaching music to young people, the Freelancers drum & bugle corps is about to fold. The greed of tribal gaming has taken away the primary source of funding and the organization will most likely not be able to rebound from this. I've been a Freelancer for 20 years now and my experience learning from this org has...

that stinks... kids shouldnt lose out on that opportunity to have music in their lives.. for most of them its a outlet from daily lives.. its a shame..
dmac:
I have friends that marched Freelancers in the very early 80's who will be deeply saddened by this. frown Why is music such a disposable commodity these days? My heart breaks for you, my dear. Drum Corp is an amazing experience and it's a shame that you'll be disbanded.

I'm not sure why but I was a bit underwhelmed by Alice in Wonderland. Maybe I was expecting The Looking Glass Wars when I shouldn't.

That was frakking awesome. I love the Lifeboat one.

And yeah, I don't know what I'm expecting from Alice in Wonderland, I think I'll watch it anyway though.

Tonight my sister told me I'm an angry person. I'm trying to figure out if I'm shocked or if it's true.

I know I get angry about situations... my pay being cut by the Jackassinator, the state employee union being complete idiots, not getting a deserved promotion. But isn't that normal angry?

Now I am a Leo and being one, I feel very loyal to...

Yeah, I love community theater. Good folks, chill atmosphere, all around good times. I'll be playing in Saratoga next month in the same theater, but for a different group.

Nice little theater, although it's weird playing in the pit located on the lap of the front row of the audience...

I missed Producers when it was there, but heard it was pretty good!

Yeahhhhhhhh, that scene is classic! Hitchcock was the master of ev-ur-thing!

Two consumer staples in Sacramento are closing down: Wishing Well and etc. Visited both for their 50% off sale and got a tattoo inspired slide bracelet at etc and this year's Halloween costume at Wishing Well. Great deal on both but sad to see these two stores go down due to the economy and big box stores.

The owners of etc are opening up a...

Hi... I just came across your blog by sheer happenstance... how can they close Wishing Well? That's ridiculous! Are both of them closing?frown
asphalt:
Yes, all Wishing Wells are now closed. Such a great place to get balloon bouquets and party decorations. I always went there instead of Party City. Guess nobody else got the memo. frown

Amen to that! I'm just six months away from that same feeling and I CAN'T WAIT!!! Good for you!

In my childish stupidity, I lost a great friend back in 1992. I found her today and made amends. It feels SO good to have her back in my life and that she's forgiven me. I feel like a huge ugly piece of my heart has healed. Going for coffee on Monday to catch up on the past 17 years. Great start to a new...

Lucky you for mending that friendship. You're much braver than I am. I fear the "fuck-you/slam-the-door" treatment with several of the dear ones I've lost along the way. Hope your coffee meet up is satisfying and healing for you both.

Nice to have you back, btw. Happy New Year, lovely lady!
asphalt:
Happy New Year to you too dmac!

Just had our coffee night and it was amazeballs! We laughed about our obsession with Depeche Mode, we cried over our stupid "breakup" and laughed again at all the good times.

Such a great night!
