i like velvia, astia, kodak portra, and some ilford films (50 speed)
i like the godfather, raging bull, star wars, it's a wonderful life, when harry met sally.
i like mozart, beethoven, bob dylan, joan baez, bruce springsteen (early), billy joel (early), vivaldi, jim croce, and....
i like dairy queen raspberry sundaes, black licorice, my mom's caramels, swedish christmas cookies, starburst....
i like robin williams, bill murray, billy crystal, marlon brando, jimmy stewart, walt disney, jennifer connelly, amanda peete, julia roberts, ingrid bergman, uma thurman
i like licking the bowl after making chocolate chip cookies, and sneaking the icing off of a birthday cake when no one is watching.
i like democracy, friends, simple people with little ego, family, children.
i like thai, italian, chinese, lasagna, manicotti, navy bean soup, split pea soup, burritos (refried bean), gyros, tacos, cheap chicken pot pies, kraft macaroni and cheese....
i like jack and coke, maker's mark, cosmopolitans.
i like principled people.
i like the summer, the fields in summer, summer rain, thunderstorms, lightning, the black soil in Iowa, the trees that grow thick along the small rivers and creeks that run through the state, and a cool breeze around midnight.
i like driving in a car alone while thinking.
i like math, pure mathematics.
i like politics but not politicians anymore.
i like my grandma, my brother, my mom (past tense).
i like Prof. Jack E. McLaughlin, may he rest in peace, and Prof. Jan Kmenta.
i like dylan thomas, milton, tennyson, frost.
i like baseball parks, memories of Ann Arbor, and playing bridge with my friends our last year of law school every day, rather than going to class or studying.
i like ideas, and problems, and psychology, and history, and trying to understand how people from other cultures really perceive the world.
i like Coca-Cola, A&W rootbeer with ice cream, my grandmother's sunshine cake with lemon or orange icing (and lemon or orange rinds in the icing).
i like homemade spaghetti sauce with a bit of wine in it.
i like sitting on a bench in a university campus and watching the world go by.
i like the people who help you at the grocery store in Iowa.
i like sleeping late, saturday afternoon naps, and going to classes only if they start after 1 p.m.
i like cheese calzones and garlic pizza.
i liked my grandfather's house and the sound of the train that lumbered by his lake apartment in the summer, late at night as I would fall asleep. Those train tracks aren't there anymore.
i like apricots, prunes, dates, oranges, sharp cheese, and soft cheese with garlic.
i like my friends dick and mike, now for many, many years.
I like graham crackers dipped in milk, tuna fish sandwiches with tomato soup, oreos with milk, raspberry and orange sherbert,
i like honest people, people who aren't afraid to be unpopular for a reason, talented people who use their talents for good.
i like frosted flakes, sugar smacks, frosted mini-wheats, raspberry pop-tarts, cream of rice with butter and brown sugar.
i like key lime pie and cheesecake and choclate cake and chocolate tortes and cream puffs and cream horns.
i ike beautiful colors in imaginative paintings and simple photographs.

Why would you insult Maxi? She's not only a beautiful woman, but a really genuine person who has overcome some serious challenges in her life.
