So, say you give someone a kidney, right. Then years later you suffer kidney failure and you need a kidney. Do you get bumped to the top of the transplant list? Because that way, I could see people hedging their bets, so to speak. You give up one of your kidneys now in the case you need one in future. In a way, you're putting your spare kidney in a safe place in case you need it later, AND you're helping someone out who needs one now. Win win, right?

That's not entirely dissimilar to securitisation, IIUC...
