Feedback time..................
Just got the offer of said job. Great and I have accepted. The package for harvest sounds really good and I have local accommodation too so I wont have to commute after long days.......Lots of hours in prospect but being paid hourly too so should amp up the bank a/c.
It is also a trial deal. Do welland get on with the winemaker and the job is mine for permanent. The money they based my trial salary is pretty light though. Considering this guy is a consultant as has said outside of harvest he will only be there 3 days a week due to other committments then the salary they offer (whisper it less than 20k p.a.) is pretty derisory.
I wrote back to accept - and am really stoked even though I know this will be arduous cause they have no forklift there. 300+ tonnes into 2 three tonne presses by hand and only 4 of us working. I will be ripped come the end of it. Anyways I also suggested a figure for the permanent job going forward.............lets see.
I am from Surrey and now am part of Surreys premier winery( I have worked in 8 different countries and now find muyself on my doorstep - never thought that would happen)...it needs some love but what an opportunity.
