Sitting in the research library reading blogs form Suicide Girls rather than reading ancient greek philosophy. Guess I wont have much to share in seminar today.
Life has finally begun to calm today. First I'd like to apologize to those that have messaged me and gotten no response in return. University life got sort of intense; partly because that is the nature of the beast and partly my allowing projects to pile up. I'll attempt to get back to everyone in the week to follow, even if the moment has totally passed and I'm just saying sorry. Also, sorry to all the friends out there that are SG's, as I've not been fully supporting new sets and what not. (1) because you should have support right!?! and (2) because I know some of you can really use the money from selling your sets. Some of you still need to get pink, so I'll try and boost that.
I'm okay. I had several spans of sleepless hours, e.g., pulling three consecutive all nighters only to do it again after one night of catching up on sleep. My mind is feeling much better, but my body is still trying to catch up.
That's all I've got for the moment. The Spring quarter as started this week and it is going to be intense. I have a packed schedule with lectures, writing, activism, getting my personal guitar play time in, and game of thrown of course, and mentoring. Soooo, yeah it is crazy, but if I stay on it I can keep up. No compounding of issues by not staying on schedule.
OOOO' yes. I am sitting in on a History of Blues course in the ethnomusicology department. I'm really looking forward to this course. A colleague let me know about this course last night, so I've missed the first week, but assume it is going to be a lot of fun. A lot of listening, minor writing on the works, and creating playlists which doesn't seem to be too much of a time suck. LOL. It's has been a long time since I've had a reason to make a 'mix tape'.
Hope you are all well, more to come....

I am in a law seminar that is cross listed with the nursing PhD candidates. My work in the course is to amount to a roughly 30 page paper to be published on group right related to legislation to address elder abuse, and issues with the creation of privileged classes.
IT IS SO FUCKING DEPRESSION/INFURIATING!!!!
The rampant physical, mental, and sexual abuse done to our elderly is heartbreaking.
My point? This research is breaking my heart. Doesn't make for happy days on what otherwise is a beautiful sunny southern California day.

Hey All,
I am horrible about keeping up with my blog. I would like to blame school, but that is crap.
That being said, I do have a paper that needs to have been done two days ago. I wanted to at least update and say I've recovered well from surgery. Kind of a crap move for me to drop that one and then go quite. Expect a blog on my shit head father to come, but I am starting to feel better about that set of stupidity.
I'm otherwise doing well. Trying to pull my head out of this darkness and get moving on my own life. A nice high is, we Beat $C. Yeah, I go to UCLA. I decided that this year I would give the 'sport' thing a go. Though I used to be a pretty accomplished swimmer and waterpolo player, I never cared for sports all that much. The school spirit aspect is pretty fun though. Finally beating SUC in football was pretty cool. Being at the game was a blast.
Ok, If I don't get this shit going and perfect by Wed I am going to destroy my grade in this course.
See you all later SG land.

I've been super shitty about my updates, sorry.
I've been, and am currently, at Rutgers with their philosophy department. Doing work with people from other departments is a great deal of fun, and I am having a blast. The diversity of intellectuals here for this event is incredible, and everyone is getting along really well. For those who do not run in academic circles, there are generally some pretty strong personalities, and some sort of conflict arrises. Everyone has been really chill and on their best behavior. A good sign is we all go out together or lounge around together every night. Be nice in sessions with one another is one thing, but spending what little free time you have together is very telling.
I am and have recovered rather well from surgery. Thank you all who expressed concern and sent good vibes. I am starting to really feel 100%, and the effects are only going to get better from this point on. So thanks again, you all kick ass.
I snuck away, have to go back to this lunch now. O' and that are actually feeding us pretty damn well. This is way important for me.
Okay, this is the tattooed philosopher signing out.
PLEASE EXCUSE POOR GRAMER AND SPELLING, I SIMPLE DON'T CARE ENOUGH WITH THESE TO PAY ATTENTION OR CORRECT THEM. BE ASSURE, MY PAPERS ARE IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE. LOL!

I guess I couldn't stay away! I was looking back at some old screen shots on my PS3, and saw Tea Suicide. Suddenly I missed the suicide community.
I had surgery this last monday. It went well, and the surgeon said everything went well. I had the procedure done here at UCLA, so needless to say I was in good hands. I had some abnormal tissue removed, and frankly, I am simply happy to have it out of my body. I am feeling much better today, but am frustrated that I can't lift anything still. The pain is fine, it is the drainage tubes that are annoying. Next check up is Monday, so more to come.
Life in the academic world? The school set me up with a new apartment, which is pretty nice. Once again, frustrating that I can't put everything together the way I like, I have been bad today and moved what furniture with my weight or legs. I've had the week off to recover, which is nice, but starting again strong on Monday.
I'll be at Rudgers for a week and a half this summer, last week of July first week of August. If anything is going on or want's to get drinks, hit me up.

Okay, so I guess I am going to keep coming back. I do love the beautiful people on this site. Those that are beautiful in appearance and self.
Minor update, spend Saturday volunteering, cleaning up Westwood. O' no, I just gave away what school I am associated with. Who gives a shit? Anyway, it is this give back to the community for supporting us sort of day. We had about 600 students, staff, and faculty. Mostly students, which is a good thing for the student body, and the community to see students help clean up. I got this little old lady named Roxanne as a team leader, and she was out of control hilarious. We of course got assigned to North Village, which is Frat side of the village. i.e. the dirties since this is were the parties are at. They send anyone in the greek system there, I guess that is fair. Most the rest of Westwood is super clean anyway. If you are not aware, Westwood is imbedded in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and Brentwood. Needless to say, the area is really clean. We paint lamp posts, curbs, and the such. Not like when we go into south central.
All that would have been fun if I had gotten any sleep in the week leading up to.
Lets see....
I am currently supposed to be writing a paper related to Spinoza right now, but I don't seem to be motivated to do so.
That is all that is going on in my boring, academic life. Nothing new and special. Living my days out in the ivory tower. Not sure how I feel about this, but I do feel privileged to have this life.
There are days I miss the other life. Music, tours, hot ass sweaty busses, being up all night breaking down. The crazy ass shit, the women, even the lack of a regular/dependable shower schedule.
Then I remind myself that something intellectual was missing, and that I why I changed gears. Perhaps someday the two will live out fully within me.
Beans and Rice,
Anticool.

Two more papers to complete. I am not sure how they are going to be of quality, having only till tomorrow at 5 to complete them both. For the most part, starting from scratch, on the writing side.
