New bloggity blog time.
So as far as my friend in the hospital, I got some more news, but not all that good.Time to recap said events: We found out that he had hurt himself while moving a few weeks ago. He went to the chiropractor, who told him he had probably slipped a disk and gave him an adjustment. Simple enough, yes? I go quite often to get my crippled ass body tuned up and do wonderfully. So apparently about 2 hours after he got home from the chiro, he startred feeling really shitty and his body was wracked with pain. It got bad enough that they had to call an ambulance to come get him. He said his skin felt like it was on fire, and even the slightest touch, say from a stethoscope, felt like someone was peeling his flesh off. He was transported to the hospital and his body had started to shut down. Labored breathing, loss of movement, kidney failure, and narrowing vision. All accompanied by massive neurological overload. He was put into the ICU for a week on dialysis and a ventilator. The next few days he showed minor improvement, and was moved into a regular room. As of Saturday, he was able to move his arms at about 60% of normal use, which allowed him to use the remote control for the tv, and didn't have to have his wife spoon feed him any more. When I talked to the doctor, they were thinking that the adjustment he had triggered the release of some existing systemic infection in his body either into his bloodstream or nervous system. They are also not ruling out the possibility of spinal meningitis
They have had to pretty much knock him out for any tests since his body is still hypersensitive to any physical contact, and have him laid out on some sort of air bed to minimize the strain on him. Doesn't help that he weighs over 300 pounds
He finally was able to take a shower on Saturday ( assisted by 5 orderlies
) which made him feel a hell of a lot more human. Hopefully there will be some kind of further improvement and better news in the near future. Just when you think your life sucks monkey ass, think of this guy and his family who just bought their first house and he is the sole provider
Anyhoo, I got a few things done this past weekend. I managed to get some more work done on the house I have been slowly fixing. New fascia boards put up, new drip edge installed, roof is patched, everything primed sanded and painted. Finished everything right before the skies fucking opened up and poured for the next 3 hours non-stop. The last thing to do is install about 60 feet worth of new gutters and downspouts. She said she has a long list of other things to do as well after this, and has been pimping my name out to all of her friends and family. Who knows, maybe I can get my old business up and running again if I get a strong enough list of clientele
I also had my son help me with the ark-O-animals this weekend. He wanted to move some things around and change a few tanks for his "buddies". We managed to move his turtle into a bigger enclosure, put his salamander into the old frog tank, and start working on the fish tanks. Sometimes I hate salt water aquariums, but it is so worth it when they are running in perfect conditon
He told me that we need to get a snake now
Pretty sure this will never end.

His salamander in his new little home

My boy trying to guilt me into buying him more pets. Hard to look serious when you are always cracking a smile
Hope everyone has a good week. I'm still flying solo on the floor of the shop, so I will be a busy little bastard.
