And possibly a sleep study. I was told I stopped breathing for almost and entire minute while asleep (timed) by a friend. This has been a problem for me for quite sometime, but only recently has it given me a really eerie feeling. I've never really been all that worried about it until now. All I know is those respirators-sleep machines are not a good look.
I had a really scary panic attack last night while trying to get to bed. I'm not sure what to do about that. I'm also wondering if it has anything to do with cutting back on my drinking. Is this some sort of withdrawal process? I could not get my heart to stop racing and my mind was moving a hundred miles per hour. Could not stop moving, tossing and turning. My benefits kick in early January, then it's doctor time. Let's hope I make it until then!
Well well well. Out of sheer, terminal boredom did I decide to come kick around these parts again. I thought maybe SG had regained some popularity or that maybe some new and interesting people were making the boards tolerable again. Still not sure how I feel about it.
Summer is almost over. The season is anyways, it will be fucking 90 degrees in Texas until November. Endless summer, indeed. But then winter comes and it fucking snows out of nowhere! And for only a day which is convenient. It looks a lot like this:
It's been in the triple digits here in Austin everyday the last 70 somthing days in a row. Record breaking heat.
Old people are dying from it, dogs are panting from it and girls are walking around in buttshorts and bikinis. I tell ya, life is rough out here sometimes. I mean with all the swimming and sunshine, it gets really intolerable.
Really though, I wish it was 68 degrees sometimes. And there is no ocean here.
I went on tour awhile back. Back in May to be precise. I filmed my friends band all the way from Austin to Punkrock Bowling and back. They were the main support for Citizen Fish, a band I have admired from a young age. It was very exciting and hilarious being on the road with all the dudes for five weeks.
Places I saw, some for the first time:
San Antonio (The Alamo)
Dallas (JFK)
Oklahoma City (Federal Building bombing)
Amarillo ( A shit ton of fast food)
Albuquerque ( I had to google that spelling)
Phoenix (Broken phone)
Canoga Park (played a venue I had been going to for fifteen years! Same carpet!)
Long Beach (Alex's Bar rules)
Pomona ( Fucking huge show that 100 skinheads showed up to)
SF (PARKSIDE YES!!)
Berkeley (Gilman st)
Eugene (Too many hippies)
Portland (Skated Burnside)
Seattle (Fuck seattle, forever)
24 hour straight drive to Vegas
Punkrock Bowling (Holy shit were we wasted for four days straight. Won a hundred bucks on a penny slot.)
Tucson (Tranny died, rear differentials were fucked, stranded for a day.)
Tucson:
When we got back to Austin, Chaos In Tejas had already started and a bunch of bay area friends were in town. Got back and right away started looking for work. Found some in the kitchen of an Austin area chain of fucking rad movie theathers. We were working a lot of overtime around the summer blockbusters, but things have slowed substantially which makes me think it's time to take some vaycay.
McLovin walked through my kitchen the other night. The sneak peak of Fright Night was going on.
And if you're not going to this, well, you're not going.
Neverending work week from Hell, continues. But at least I won't be at job number two (the one I hate) much longer. I just got a new job at a diner. Can't wait to be caught up on bills again and I can't wait for my buddy to move into my spare room in March. March, man. That means SXSW. I can't believe it's coming up this soon. This whole last year flew by me. Whirlwind of working, raging, swimming, bonfires and late late nights that turn into mornings that turn into not sleeping and building things with power tools. Like I said, a whirlwind. I've been here for 8 months and I REALLY need this vacation coming up. It's gonna be good to see everybody and just walk down the street in SF. I'm going to eat burritos everyday, St. Francis, Tommy's Joynt and anywhere else I can squeeze into a week. I might even jump back behind the bar one night, if Lil_Tuffy says it's okay.
