i found out that an old friend of mine, Jay, has gotten married and a little house and he's going to be happy for the rest of his life with his pretty little wife.
And that has made my heart grow ten fold.
He's 20 now and when we were in high school he could only read at fourth grade level.
In the 6th grade Chris Cook and Corey Cavalarro locked us in the laundry room so I'd show him my boobs. But I didn't and we just I said I did... Instead we held hands and promised to never see each other naked.
We "dated" in the 7th grade. He gave me a bear he won from a machine at Denny's and a card that said "I LUVE YOU"...
I hope when he writes anniversary cards to his wife he still spells "love" wrong.
And I hope she makes him feel like the smartest man in the world and lets him read picture books to their children so he doesn't have to sound out the words in front of them.
And that will be okay...She'll love him anyway.
Before he left we fell asleep in the front yard.. and that was the first time he seemed older than me.
I hope he's always smiling...
And if he can't all the time... I hope he works through it well.
All I know is that the last person I expected to be married has a gold ring on his finger and gave away his last name to a girl who means the world to him.
And I think that's reason enough for me look forward to what's to come...and what's to go.
