I have come to the conclusion that the Boston music scene is vastly underrated. I was very into the local music scene when I was in high school and sadly (though understandably) lost touch with it when I moved to New York City for college. Now that I have been back here for two years, I am delighted to have discovered that a new generation...

I hate my roommates and my apartment so much that I want to cry.

If I wasn't already struggling with every penny to pay rent right now, I would leave this place and get a new one tomorrow. Eating the last two months of rent would be worth it, if only I wasn't wondering whether I'm going to be able to eat day-to-day at this...

I lived alone in law school. And I was married!

Congrats on finishing the first year. Its all down hill from here. Well, kinda. biggrin

Roomates are hardly ever good for anything but paying part of the rent - and not always that! I hope you find a way to escape.

If law school has made anything abundantly, crystal clear, it is this:

Justice Scalia is a fucking moron.

but he wrote Lujan II !!!!! and what about all those great civil procedure descisions. He may have an evil soul, or maybe none at all, but a moron he is not.

The only upside is that you don't have to teach the SOB. wink

I am officially (and hopefully successfully) done with my first year of law school. I have worked harder in these past few weeks than I have ever worked for anything in my life. So I apologize to all my wonderful friends on here - my neglect is over and I will catch up with you all soon. But right now, mass quantities of alchol are...

Although I have been practicing for four years now, I am still amazed that I am an attorney. While it may be scary that you will be an attorney soon, I have no doubt that you will be a fine attorney.

In a few hours, I will sit down to take my Property final, kicking off the beginning of the end of my first year of law school. But today has so much more significance - all across this state of Massachusetts today, same sex couples can receive 100% valid and legal marriage licenses. This is the first time in the country that this is happening...

Congratulations! Seriously. First-year is awful, but the next two are much better. They're still stressful but in different, better ways.

I miss NYC now, too frown

I feel so much better, no shit. An excellent start for my weekend

Not quite done yet... close, though... so very close (Wednesday).

And did I say lemonade-flavored? No, I don't think I did. You ROCK! Lemonade is by far my favorite.

I find that I function a hell of a lot better when I have 80 bazillion things on my plate rather than just a few. The past two weekends have been long weekends and I proved relatively incapable of getting ahead on any work. Yet when I have a full day of classes, meetings, and immediate responsibilites, I take care of everything like a smooth...

My dad rules. He was on ESPN news this weekend because of his expertise in war crimes and genocide. On ESPN! Apparently, the 1941 Lituanian basketball decided to "celebrate" their victory against the German team by killing ten innocent Jewish people. Allegations have now surfaced that two members of that team are now living in Connecticut. While there is no doubt that the executions took...

Hey I'm joining the law group. Thanks for the tip. And yes, the Nazis in the USA should be tracked down, along with all the violent fundies and the Christian Right (whoops was that out loud).

I got a job! I got a job! Woohoo!!

I'll be working this summer as a research assistant for the academic dean of my school, doing research on issues of federal civil procedure - specifically matters involving international parties - and government ethics. I feel like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders. This is excellent. So happy. smile

I'm so starting to fall for this boy. I know I have talked about him in every journal entry for the past three weeks, but he's...wonderful. He's the most genuine person I have ever gone out with. And he's adorable. And fuckin' sexy.

So a friend saw my SG link in my AIM profile and sent me a link to another competing site. It was...

Oh, a Columbia undergrad? That's where I'm doing my PhD. Unfortunately not at the lovely Morningside campus, but at the significantly less attractive Washington Heights medical campus. But it's still a chance to live in New York, which is great. I love it too - the fact that no matter what day of the week, there's always more going on than you could possibly do is pretty compelling.
egon:
glad things are going so well with the boy. Although if it was my friend aaron from high school, or my old roomate, Hog, watch out. they're both scumbags. Especially aaron. Never trust an investment banker who lives in a basement in Lynn.

This had been an odd week, full of ups and downs. Let's make a list, shall we?

Downs:
- the boy and I got into our first little tiff
- my finals grades were not the stellar representations that I wanted them to be
- the Mass. legislature took the first step in banning gay marriage (read my Newswire piece and subsequent debate here.)...

I just love crushes. Way too much fun wink Thanks for the note in my journal. Did you sign the petition? I'm gonna find out Sunday at Ill Nino what Birdsey knows about this FNX rumor.

Hey smile Yeah, it's the Angel Investigations logo, slightly modified, with some color. It's my baby. I hope the artist doesn't mind I got it done though.

I'm happy to hear you have a reciprocated crush. I've never had the pleasure, but I don't care! No really, I don't. ARRR!!!
