So i went out today and got a few books on vegetarianism. I was literally overwhelmed though with the selection of things to buy at the book store and had no idea what to get cook-book wise. I finally went with a cookbook where all the recipes require only five ingredients--i figure that if i can't manage that one i don't deserve to live on my own. I also got a Vegetarianism for Dummies as i wanted a simple quick read to help me navigate the waters.

Additionally i'd like to say a super duper thanks for everyone who's given me ideas and support on thsi whole thing. Without you all i probably couldn't do this. kiss

Still haven't been tempted by meat yet so i think i'm doing well, which is awesome.

Nothing else really going on 'round here. Went drinking last night with a bunch of my oldest friends and that was spectacularly fun. I actually managed to get in contact with Carrie and i'm hoping we can find some time to see each other shortly. She's in school and teaches part time so we'll see when and what can happen. But i think she's interested which is a good sign.

Odd. I'm tempted by meat daily. Sometimes I wake up with hamburger cravings. And, as Oscar Wilde said, the best way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. Mmmm, hamburger. I mean, I hope your new lifestyle goes well. You're right, the amount of products out there is staggering and growing all the time.

That is a rather good line. I actually know someone that I could use it on in a seductive manner. Coolness.

I'm getting an MA in writing, so I tend to study lots of disciplines. Poetry being one of them.

The doing well is reffering to I gave up meat as well, but I love food so we'll see how long it lasts. That gives me an idea..I should learn how to make different veg. meals so as not to tempt myself. kiss

because i think that forcing a moral judgement on your cats is completely irrational, immoral, and i know for a fact that it can kill your cat. bargaining with your pet's life is nothing short of animal cruelty in my eyes.

I went veg once for a while because I was moving in with my gf who was veg. and I felt bad eating meat in front of her. It was easier for me because 1) she had been for so long that she knew all the ins and outs and how to actually cook and make full meals out of veggies & 2) we worked at a place in Wheeling where the people who ran it were veg and they gave us free lunches and dinners n'stuff. biggrin

I know it's hard because of inconvenience (when eating out there's not many options) but I'm sure you can do it. Just frequent India Garden. wink And maybe join the vegetarian group and ask for advice there?
