I think I might have just had the ultimate Montreal experience.

I was walking down the main, going to Patati Patata for dinner, like you do, smiling at passersby .. and this guy who walked by me looked strangely familiar.

I did a double take.. it took a split second to process.. and then I realized... I'd just walked by Leonard Cohen. Whoa.

Patati Patata was full, so I stumbled to a strangely non-busy Schwartz's and had myself a smoked meat sandwich and black cherry soda.

Leonard fucking Cohen. Whoa.

Update: Since seeing Leonard Cohen seemed almost too good to be true (he now lives in LA) I did a little research and it turns out that he's in town right now for Irving Layton's funeral.

I didn't even know that he had died, I need to keep a better eye on the news. I couldn't find any of his poems online.. but I found a few of my favorite quotes if his -
