That third person writing thing is hard I have done it and there is a story brind it and I think its funny but after I type it it might not be but I am working on the storytelling part of life again.... I can tell a story verbally but written I have been having trouble lately.... Which is wierd since that is something I used to do for fun but I am way off topic, ok, refocusing...

SO I used to work as a sales agent for Liberty Mutual Insurance. We were phone jockeys so we had little teams we were grouped in to. Well we had a habit of sending emails back and forth usually started by the supervisor and we would either pick up on it or ridicule it or each other through it. I of course was much more fond of sending ridicule.... Well we had a girl who was a new member on her team and her name was Amber and by god she was a gogetter. She took the job seriously and her Insurance Sales counselor role way too seriously. In meetings she would spiral in to horrible speeches that she found to be motivating. Well she started getting better at handling the job and sending emails at the same time and all of a sudden I had competition getting them out first. Except hers were always in third person. It was hysterical here is an example: Sup-"So what do you think of the new team competition gang?" Amber- "Amber thinks this is great and Amber thinks that with Mike's help the Amber Mike Team will crush all." I am not kidding that was how all of her email was it was competitve and in third person. SO we had to name the team and I unofficially but very publicly dubbed us the "WWE Fans". When I had to explain why I had bucked the name I sent this messag: "Mike finds it very insulting that you would even stoop so low as to question Mike's judgement. Obviously the WWE Fans Will crush all as the Amber has stated. If you need reasons look how we talk in third person. Can you smell what the Mike is cooking"Amber responded-"Amber had not noticed she wrote in third person. I don't like the name though Mike." I responded: "The Mike says it doesn't matter what Amber likes! Know your role, Jabroni!" And that was when we became the team of "WWE Fans" and I had to work real hard to make sure I continued to write in third person which meant I had to pay attention before I hit send. I think I should try to do it again because I find the word "I" kind of annoying know that you point out the egotistical thing.

Anyways cats.... Mike still thinks they are biding time until they decide they can safely take over the world and then all cat owners will have their throats ripped out. Irrational, maybe but at least the fears are known. A cat was in the house for a while and it assumed it should keep its claws sharp on mike's clothes

as far as the system problems, when the computer has an error it crashes and it alway posts a "Your system has recovered from a fatal error" i sent in the error report whch I dont normally do because of a nonlegit copy and all.... here is what they told me

Well, I'm glad you asked. Actually, I am still trying to figure it out myself. Basically, I thought the idea of Punk Rock Girl Scouts was kind of cool. I wanted to have a way to recognize all the kick ass things the women in my generation accomplish. Also, it will be a way to motivate women and girls to do cool stuff.

There will be merit badges for all sorts of things. Some of them will probably be pretty similar to existing Girl Scout Badges, but a little off. Most will be totally original- (see my journal and some of the posts people left there).

Basically, the site will be a place where girls (maybe guys too- I haven't decided how that will work) will get tangible recognition for all those punk rock points one accumulates in daily life.

Anyway, thanks for being interested. I will be sure to post all over the place when I have something actually constructed there.

I got a bunch of new books a couple of weeks ago and have been waiting to tear into them. I will get on that as soon as possible. I just have been super busy lately.

do you do a lot of active work for the Democrats? i really hope the Republicans get kicked out. i'm not entirely sure Kerry could win without Michael Moore and Green Day and all the rest batting for him. Are there any celebs that are going all out to get Bush re-elected?

ugh, pretty depressing to read about the student ID. i hate the way corporations are ingratiating themselves into college-sponsorship for just about anything. its happenning so fast its hard to notice even!

Zingermans is kind of west side-ish. Kerrytown is really it's own neck of the woods. I lived near Catherine and Division for a year in the student ghetto. That might not be a bad deal if you don't mind a bunch of roommates. You'd have a lot of fun. The #3 Bus will take you all the way to EMU.

Look around west of Main Street, between Huron and Stadium. That's all townies, not many students, but its really nice.

i haven't been living in the wilderness, although that might have been preferable alternative. a bit of survival is probably just what i've been needing

no, i've described this year as my wilderness year--- my dark night of the soul, although that's over-dramatising things a fair bit

as it happens, i've grown up in the countryside beside a small town too: small town syndrome's been driving me nuts. the great escape comes on Monday, but actually I shouldn't have much moving to do--- Belfast isn't that far from home (and its a university owned postgraduate flat), and apart from clothes, CDs and books, there shouldn't be an awful lot more to shift.

i live pretty lightly.

A lot of what I belived about California when I lived in Michigan has not been true. It's been harder to find organic produce and such here. Ralphs, the same chain as Kroger with a different name, only started stocking organic groceries in the last couple of years. They've only recently got hip to soy milk and such and offer a variety. They don't stock After the Fall juices or a lot of that other stuff that is sort of Whole Foods-ish that you can buy at Kroger.

Politically, California isn't nearly as liberal as you might think. The cost of living out here is so expensive, that a lot of those top 1% of income earners live here. They have a lot of clout. San Francisco is much more liberal than LA. I think the biggest shock was how dirty LA is. Cities usually aren't clean, and it's always a shock to see they aren't like you see on TV. When I had to travel to Dallas for work a long time ago I was also shocked by how dirty it was.

Radio wise, LA radio sucks. Really. There's nothing like WDET out here. There's a jazz station that's kind of like WEMU, but they don't do NPR, it's all blues and jazz. They're a really good station. The big public radio station KCRW does a little bit of music, but it's almost all news programming and a lot of it is stuff they create to sell nationally. There's a really good one on every day from 1-2 my time called "To the Point." It's like what Nightline was like 20 years ago when it was really good. Anyway, there's not a lot of good music stations on the radio out here.

We have amazing museums and culturally this place is just crazy. It's all here if you've got the money to do it. That's one of the reasons I can't leave. That and the weather!

Yeah, I have a few options...but by no means am I baiting Sean. He's pretty cool for being "kind of a jerk" it just seems some neo-cons "bate" people into debates and delete comments b4 they turn a defending party in. It f-d'd up. But I might not have home internet for a week or 2 so I might hang low...

Part of the subframe is seriously cracked. It has to be replaced and the body shops are all planning to rip me off.

With the thread where we've been bitching tonight, you'll not that the so-called reasonable members of the SG conservatives aren't willing to lie and say they aren't flaming us behind our backs in their group.

there's a monster.com, but in my experience its pretty ineffectual over here. i think i'm going to aim for work in the charity sector though, if i want something full time

Usually an entertaining conversation is talking about world events, the news, the election, politics, science, music, jazz especially, interesting things that happen at school/work.

Things like that.

Usually with my other friends it is who is sleeping with who, who got 'busted,' who is a jerk, what classes 'suck ass,' etc, etc.

And the dean closed all of the party houses at our school, as well as increasing penalties of having/drinking alcohol to extreme levels, unlike last year. Parties used to be fun. Now they just a liability that I am not sure i want to take the risk of. His new policies pretty much forces people to drink and drive (as there is a state school <10 minutes away), and drunk driving is something I never want to be even remotely near. So it seems as though I will be attending extremely few parties this year.

And to make it much much worse, thats how I usually meet people, because I am pretty terrified of social situations.
