Freedom!

Well, for a few days anyway.

I don't have to go back to the office til Tuesday. Was originally planning to go to a music festival, but ended up deciding to stay home. I have no idea what I'll do over this time - hopefully there will be at least some fun involved!

Edit: Mini-vacation 2008 is not off to an auspicious start. Just made a pitifully failed attempt to don an old pre-vanity-sizing pair of blue jeans.

Looks like a new exercise regimen is in order if I wish to avoid emulating the Pillsbury Doughboy...

Yup, exactly!!! I think there are so many messages ingrained upon us on a daily basis from commercials and what-not that alcohol=good times. People start young and never know what it's like to not use it a crutch to be social and have a good time just being yourself.

No, it most certainly hasn't been. Like the French being able to eat decadent, rich, fatty foods while simultaneously maintaining a very thin and healthy physique. Their culture savors these things in very small amounts and they know that it's all about quality over quantity. Americans could learn a lot from that way of thinking, that's for sure...
