dealing with so many pressing open issues at work, that as soon as I start thinking about one of them I get nervous because I'm not thinking about a different one.

so I try to structure my time so that I can devote a solid block to one thing, but the interruptions don't stop and every one is more important than the last one, so I go into vaporlock and stare at my monitor and do nothing.

I pace the beige pathways of my diurnal habitat
In the distance I see, gathered in twos and threes
Other occupants of the financial farm in which we toil.

My only interaction with them is a nod or a smile
Passing them on the escalator
Or walking to the restroom.

The Guyanese guard at the front desk

just when you think it can't get any worse.....

this morning my wife called from south carolina. she and the kids are driving to FL for Christmas and stopped there overnight. the car was broken into and all of their clothes, presents, cds, were stolen. they even took the fucking cheetos.

my first thought was that I hope whoever stole the stuff really needed it. then i just wanted to hunt them down and kill them. now i just wish i was with them. i do fly down in two days, and as my wife said, it's probably best i wasn't there.....

mind-numbingly tedious work. juggling bills and credit cards, a failing business. it's been hard to get into the spirit this year.

i'm a news junkie and it's all bad. i take pills to wake up, pills to keep me undepressed, pills to help me sleep. i'm feeling my age in my bones.

i drink way too much coffee. my diet is for shit.

i have a wonderful family. they love me. i love them. my dog is always happy to see me when I come home. the frogs are still alive.

there are beautiful women to look at on SG. i'm on a 150 game winning streak on freecell. i finally got passed the third wheel level in world of goo.

i guess i'm alright.
