Have fun in Prague. Tip: just be nice. It's OK to be a tourist, just don't be an "ugly American" assuming that everyone should do things a certain way because that's how we do them here, or acting like the Czechs are "ignant furriners". Since you have too much sense and class to do that, you'll be fine.
Avoiding fannypacks and other "touristy" stuff is probably good too, though keep your camera.
I'm not surprised Nate gets business from people who see your tattoos. He's done a really good job.

Tourists are really welcome in so many countries in europe!
just enjoy yourself and the places you are going to and of course, be polite, respectful and always give thanks to people who helps and offer smiles all over!

If you think someone speaks English and you want to use it, always ask them (in Czech) before hand, before you start speaking it. A lot of times people are more than happy to speak with you in English, and you'd be surprised how many people speak it. Europe is very multi-lingual. But you should always ask if it's okay. If you don't, and you assume a) that they know it and/or b) that they'll use it, they'll often times get mad. It makes you look pretentious.

Prefacing your awful butchering of the language with "sorry" or "forgive me", or "I speak very little Czech" will go a long way. Humility is very important when you're a guest in their country (which you are). Similarly, always remember to say "please" and "thank you."

Learn how people greet each other. It's different in every country. Sometimes it's different in different parts of a country. If you give the wrong greeting (a handshake where a kiss should be used, or vice versa, or whatever) it looks bad.

I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job of representing the USA abroad. It doesn't take much to be a sensitive, respectful guest, but unfortunately a lot of people don't bother, which makes it a lot harder for the rest of us.

I agree, I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as looking like an asshole...just don't talk super loudly, it's one of those American habits you don't realize you have until you're somewhere else!
