Sometimes I feel like the person I was/am here is much more me, than in "real life". Perhaps it's because in a place like this and considering the age I was, I formed and truly became my own creation. Maybe it is rather too idealised and that's what makes it so appealing.. but I feel like I don't express myself well in real life and...

Well you probably haven't met me yet. I am glad you came back because you were one of the beautiful women that brought me to this site in the first place.
posadist:
You are my all time favorite SG by far. I hope your life has been full of good things.

It's a bit sad and disappointing that they've deleted all the regional groups here on SG. I would have come on now to have a blether about the Scottish election with people who might be remotely interested. I feel like the little safe havens on here have disappeared. How weird is Edinburgh and look at that big blue border..

Annalee, the fall of SG started when they rebuilt the site, now its more about getting as many models as possible, the exclusiveness of this place is gone.
elysianfielder:
Yeah, there's really not that sense of community, and sense of humor, that used to emerge from this site.

Sending you love. I hope that things are going well for everyone this new year x

You appeared in my dream last night @ANNALEE , seems like you were preparing some veggie plate in the oven. I was stumbling over my words because I didn't really dare to ask to use the oven too for my food... haha :) No idea who's kitchen we were in. Anyway, hope you're doing fine!

Hope you are through the midwinter blahs. For a woman i've never met in this lifetime and whom i most likely will never cross paths with i sure have thought of you a lot since stumbling into the SG universe. I hope you didn't have for real depression (if you did hopefully you had the brstctreatmentcavailable) and hopefully the universe is reflecting what seems to be an abundance of beauty possesed by you back into your life. Wishing you wellness

Feeling the force of the bleak midwinter. Got to use the force. I sort of moved house, thank you very much for all the very good advice. I've been there about half the time and the other half back home. I hope you're all well. Have you seen Star Wars yet, is it good?x

Happy New Year ! Chewbacca was great in the new flick. So was Finn. So glad that there were some good laughs in this one. Best wishes in 2016 ! x

The real difference and the revolutionary/transformational power of The Force Awakens is that the torch of power is passed to REY. May the healing power and passion of GAIA prevail! All power to you as well ANNALEE. You are wonderful.

I have a relatively small thing to do. I have to move my things into a flat which is two rooms. My things are quite a jumble but they only take up one room and yet it feels like an insurmountable task. Every time I go into my room to think about getting started, how to get the books off the shelves.. what to do...

Beginning with a couplet from Carmina Gadelica
and with grace notes from the same source.
I have a charm for the bruising
a charm for the blackening
a charm for cheats and impostors.
I summon from the cold clear air
from the bare branches of the trees
from worms coiling under the ground –
charm against cruel intent
charm for neglect
charm against wicked indifference:...

Browsing the obits, here's a favorite saying Dr. Sacks loved to quote, which perfectly encapsulates his view of medicine as treatment of the individual.  It is from Sir William Osler:  “Ask not what disease the person has, but rather what person the disease has.”  As in "... has in its grip."  So true!  **sigh**  Lost another one, dammit.
[Sorry for depressing everyone.]

An entirely different colour palette from the Mediterranean. The turquoise blues and iridescence of Greece is certainly more uplifting but when you are here on the east coast of Scotland it has a wonderful effect too. And I still swim in this sea, at least once a year but it's bitterly cold and you come out blue and white and your skin stinging as if

I was interested in the anniversary today because we have some family history connected to this bleak event. When the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki 70 years ago, my grandfather was in a Japanese prisoner of war camp about 10km away. He was a captain in the merchant navy and their ship had been sunk by German U-boats. The Germans handed him and his...

My mother-in-law was a girl in WW2 Japan. She told of always being hungry until the war was over. Your grandfather was lucky to be well treated by the Japanese. I guess since he wasn't in the military he was treated better. POWs were treated very bad by their Japanese captors. Gregory Boyington and many others spoke of the harsh beatings and starvation diets. Hopefully one day we can learn to get along.
