I've never understood why the food service industry is always the first to feel the brunt of customer's emotional trauma. People that work for these places have to deal with so much shit, and it really doesn't make a lot of sense.

1. We all need to eat. They are providing that service.
2. People have weird eating habits, it's nearly impossible to satisfy everyone 100%.
3. The majority of people actually have, at one time, most likely worked in the food service industry. That being said, they realize just how horrible it is.

Regardless, shit like this still happens. Amazing.

I think the lack of respect most people give fast food employees has to do with those FUCKING UGLY SUITS they have to wear... fast food uniforms should be a thing of the past, or at least the people who work in mcdonalds dont have too look like such dweebs. I think that all fast food places should repeal their dresscode uniform and hook up the privelidge to wear jeans into work...

Maybe she should have gone to burger king...least then she could get it her way.

She was definately not in the market to be satisfied. There was nothing anyone could have done to make her happy.

A cheeseburger at McDonald's costs about 39 cents, right?
Is it that big of a fucking deal if they don't put mayo on it?

I work at a McDonalds, but thankfully I've never dealt with shit that crazy. We did have some loopy bitch come in one day pointing and the insulation under the one counter claiming it was petrified McChicken and doing a bunch of other innane things.

I would for one, would have taken her cheeseburger in the back and gladly put some "mayonnaise" on it....all in the name of customer service of course.

Im Vegan, so I dont have to worry about McDonnalds.

I've actually been to McDonalds w/a vegan. apple pies. either way, I think I'd be worried about nut-jobs who lose it in the drive-thru and drag people and drive into oncoming traffic, or worry about nut-jobs who hate vegans, or nut-jobs in general. nut-jobs scare the shit outta me.

yes indeed. mayo was the least of this lady's problems. she's probably had a lifetime of being told she can't have what she wants so finally she lost her marbles at the drive-thru. and isn't it funny how one moment and one bad decision changes the course of your life? maybe that's an entirely different topic better suited for the lifestyle board.

a lot of the people who frequent mcdonalds live in underpriveleged neighborhoods. some feel that the only control they have in their lives is the attitude that they can bring to the fast food industry. they have control over the lowly worker at micky d's.

read, "there's no shame in my game: status and stigma among harlem's working poor" by katherine s. newman and catherine ellis if interested in research done on this topic.
