While I'd love to find out the status of his pacemaker, I'd like to naively propose the following question:

Why isn't Cheney the front-runner for president on the republican side? He is the vice-president isn't he?

So then, I have follow-up questions:

What good has he done for our country since he became vice-president and why did he become vice president anyway if he didn't want to eventually become president?

He'd carry exactly zero states outside of Wyoming and Texas.

As far as I'm concerned, Dick Cheney has been the POTUS since 2001.

Utah, yes. Illinois, not a chance in hell.

Regardless, it would be a bloodbath.

Um, why is there an assumption that becoming VP means that you expect to eventually run for the Presidency? Just because something is a tradition does not mean it will always be adhered to, nor should be.

He lent gravitas to the ticket, and he was continuing his long established record of public service to the country.

He lent a criminal element to the ticket, and he was continuing his long established record of fucking over the country for his own profit.

Fixed for reality.

Did you know that it is theoretically possible to hack into some pacemakers now?

Although I'll bet Cheney's has some cutting-edge, military-grade encryption built in. However, his pacemaker may be quite old, so it is difficult to say.

Did I happen to mention that he's old, kinda like McCain?

Anyway. . . . smile

McCain is old but doesn't seem to have the CAD problems Cheney has. His problems seem related to skin cancer.

And quite possibly some senility.

he either had not given in to the Dark Side fully, or he was planning well ahead even back then.

I really didn't think he'd live long enough to be sworn in the first time. I can't help thinking there's an oil painting of him somewhere growing very old.

i see what you did there.
