I've tried a few different kinds of tea recently: Keemun, Assam, Darjeeling, Iron Goddess of Mercy... and liked them all. I didn't like them all equally, but I liked them. So far so good. (I didn't like Earl Gray, but I figured that was the bergamot oil, not the tea.)
But I began to worry. What if I like all teas? Do I have no ability to discriminate at all? Am I just a promiscuous tea slut? This can't be good.
Well.
Turns out not to be a problem.
I bought a bag of Formosa Jade Oolong "Dung Ti" at the local tea shop... they said it was popular. All I can say is, "Is it supposed to taste like that?" Guess I should have been warned by the name... "dung tea"...
Anyway, it is now clear that I do not like all teas. But I still have this bag of "dung ti" to use up... somehow.
Addendum: I once ordered a beer called "Old Peculiar", and had a similar reaction: "Is it supposed to taste like that?" In this case it turned out that no, it's not supposed to taste like that. It had gone very, very bad. (I didn't learn this part until after I'd finished it, though.
