Isolation is a funny thing.
I spent a month with (almost) no company other than a cat (did I mention that I'm not really a "cat person"?), and loved it. People keep asking me, "How could you survive a month without other people? Didn't it drive you crazy?"
Well......... no. I loved it. Coming back to "civilization" may yet drive me crazy, though.
I know I'm an introvert, but... it is still a little disturbing to me that I seem to be so completely at odds with almost everybody else. Being alone for a month was the most restful and rejuvenating thing that I have done since... well... I was born.
What is it about me that allows me to relax only when there is nobody within 30 miles? Kind of a problem, since my career choices more or less guarantee that I will live in or near large population centres for the rest of my life. Got to work on this.

i was shocked and amazed to see your name back on my page.
any more stories of this amazing time alone? i often fantasize about telling everyone to fuck the hell off and leave me alone, but i know that would never happen.
