My mom got her package from Chuck Palahniuk yesterday. I don't remember if I explained about it or not so I'll do it again. When we met him and he was signing our books, I told him that the ones John was holding were for my mom who couldn't be there that day. He gave us an envelope and told us not to tell her, but to send it to him with her address and he would send her something nice.

Well, yesterday I got a call at work and apparently that "something nice" had arrived. She was absolutely ecstatic. John said that he had never seen my mom that happy and I can't recally too many times I've seen her so happy either. I almost thought she was going to pee she was so happy.

Inside the box were a whole bunch of things that were so characteristic of her likes that it was almost like he stalked her to find things out. I know it was all stuff that had to do with his books, but come on, I mean there was a pen that looked like a cigarette in there. Enough said.

The coolest thing in the box by far was a letter from him along with a necklace. The letter said that he made the necklace himself from rocks that he collects on his travels. All of the necklace was various polished rocks and he told exactly what all of them were and then there were some lettered beads. They read "To Tammy Turner From Chucky P".

It was seriously one of the nicest things ever. She said she's going to wear her necklace today and I'm sure she will tell everyone all about it again. It's really nice to see her so happy.

I don't really have a lot to say other than that. I know, I'm freaking boring right now. I was really excited about this though so I figured I would share the excitement around.
