i went to Horrorfind....
ooohhh......i will just copy and paste from my other journal....
8-19-05Friday
finally Horrorfind weekend!!!!
Ash with Shanes parents for the weekend. we rented the car early Friday morning. got to Hunt Valley, Maryland around 2:30. we needed to waste time before we could check into our hotel room. i found out that Divines grave was only 3 miles from our hotel room so i drove around forever trying to find his grave eventually we found it. in fact it wasnt 3 miles away it was more like 10 miles.
got Chick-Fil-A.... i havent had it since i last visited Florida!!!
we checked into our room at the Embassy about 5. they tell us that every morning is an all you can eat complementery breakfast buffet from 7-10:30 and every night from 5-7:30 is a complementary all you can drink in the bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we were on the 6th floor. this is the nicest room i have ever seen. you walk into the living room with a couch, chair, tv, mini kitchen, table, then a mini halway with the bathroom, then into the bedroom with a kingsized bed, huge dresser/desk with a huge mirror, a tv, then our balcony
we put our stuff in the room, then go down to the bar, drink a little there then walk across the street to the convention, we just scope things out. Shane buys some stuff. we walk back to our hotel to put our stuff away and to get the car to go on a beer run. when i get to the room i start feeling really sick. either i caught that bug that has been going around or the fast food i ate through the day finally got to me.
so i decided to call it a night and told the boys to go ahead without me. they dont want to go without me so they just take the car to get beer and come back to the hotel room to keep me company.
i fell asleep pretty early.
8-20-2005Saturday
i woke up feeling good as new. Shane and I went down and got our breakfast. it wasnt that great but it was free food and a lot of it. we ate our breakfast next to Russ Striener (Johnny from Night of the Living Dead) and John Russo (co-wrighter/producer of the movie).
We went back up to our room grabbed Mott then went over to the convention.
As soon as we got there we began our day of line standing. From 10am until about 2pm we stood in line to meet Bruce Campbell. We met some nice people who were inline with us. Every time we meet people and never get their names. Finally it was our turn. Everything was so rushed, we had about 2 or 3 minutes with him, a Horrorfind worker took the pictures, but there were no personal ones. He signed our prints and I brought a matted picture of my Ash and had him sign it, he said that he was cute and that he will be an actor one day, he told me to give that boy a hug and a kiss for me. And that was it!
After that we went to the rest of the Evil Dead cast and had them sign the matted picture of Ash. Went to the vendor room spent some money. Avoided that guy who was in Plan 9 From Outerspace I cant remember his name but he was annoying as hell.
After all that we went to eat at a diner, then bought some beer.
Went back to our room, drank some and just hung out for a bit, put our beer in the cooler.
Then we went back across the street. Bought more stuff.
Went back to the hotel room, hung out a little more, took these pictures.....
(this is looking from our floor down to the middle of the inside of our hotel)
(this is looking from our room over to where the convention was held)
........then grabbed our cooler and headed over back over to the convention for the costume contest.
We stood in line some morefinally got in, we squeezed though the crowd so we could see. I never realized how funny Bruce Campbell was. He was the perfect host for the contest. We stayed for most of it then right when they were announcing the winners we went to where the outdoor movies were playing so we could get a good seat for Man With The Screaming Brain.
We got there as Bloody Malory was ending. That movie seemed really really bad! During intermission they played about 30mins of Looney Toons. When Bruce was finished with the contest he came to present the movie. From what I remember and could comprehend it was a decent movie well for a movie that the Sci-Fi channel had something to do with, I was pretty drunk though.
After the movie I looked around the hotel for a couple of people I knew to see if anything was going on, but I couldnt find them and Shane and Mott didnt want to hang out. So we went back to the hotel room, and I went to sleep pissed off.
here are some of the goodies we bought through the weekend......
(Metaluna Monster, or whatever it is called. i bought this and i got to spin a wheel to get a free prize and i won The Evil Dead Companion book for Shane)
(Shane Bought me Otis)
(This is Shanes toy, not that i am any way a Star Trek fan, i just thought it was really cute. this guy does all of his models by hand, and they are all really cute. his site is clayguy.com you should check it out)
(we didnt get very many movies this time around)
(Devils Rejects comic)
(my $5 skull, i think i just felt the need to buy something more since i didnt buy very much)
(my Bruce Campbell autograph, Shane has a different print, i just forgot to take a picture of it)
(Postcards...i like to frame them and hang them on the walls)
(A Steven Blahblahblah (i will not even try to spell it since i cant even pronounce it) print that Shane bought me. he does art work for lots of musicians)
(Ash's autographs)
(2 Vincent Price prints i couldnt refuse. isnt that the cutest thing ever, Vincent holding a kitty cat)
(the toys we bought Ash)
Shane bought a lot more stuff, i am sure i did too but i dont remember right now. we got lots of great promotional posters and items from Anchor Bay and Lions Gate too.
8-21-05Sunday
In the morning we woke up later than planned because we all know that drunk people dont know how to set alarms. We had just enough time to get our free breakfast get all of our shit together and check out of the hotel. We decided the night before that we were going to skip the convention for the day and go to Baltimore and be tourists since it was only about 12 miles away.
I drove around for a while just to check things out. Stopped at a gas station to get gas and drinks I talked to a couple of crackheads while we were there, they were fun. I asked them if there was anything to do in Baltimore and they pointed me in the direction of where the aquarium and expensive stuff was. I drove to that area, I PARALLEL PARKED ALL BY MYSELF!!! Yeah yeah yeah. It was probely because I had a small car but whatever!! We walked around that part for about 5 mins until I asked someone else if there was anything to do and he directed me about 5 blocks away to where all the cute little shops are. We walked around that area for a while, went into this record store that looked just like Criminal Records in Atlanta, it was really creepy. I asked the girl working there if anyone has ever compaired the place to Criminal Records and she told me that she went to Atlanta the week before and thought the same thing.
We left the Baltimore area by 3:30
Drive home. Boring drive. Traffic jam. Devils Rejects soundtrack. More fast food. Frappicino. Boring drive. Shitty music. Good music. Long drive. Reminiscing. Boring drive.
We to Shanes parents house about 9pm. I give Ash 3 days worth of hugging and kissing. We go home, Shane takes Mott home.
Unpack our goods. Shane pisses his mom off by telling her that he doesnt want to go to Lake George the next day, she cries like a 12 yr old. I call her to tell her we will go anyway and she acts even more childish, I hang up on her.
Go to sleep.
8-22-2005Monday
wake up early to take the car back, Shanes dad follows me to give me a ride back so we didnt have to wake Ash up. On the ride home I tell him that Shane only said that he didnt want to go because he wanted to sleep and didnt even want to think about waking up at 7am to go there. So after he dropped me off he went home and convinced her that we wanted to go. So by 10 we were on our way to Lake George. Only takes about 2 hrs to get there. We get to Great Escape. walk around, walk around some more, go to the water park, the water is to cold for me to swim, Shane cant get in the water because he has a new tattoo on his leg. Ash plays in the water and Shanes dad and I chase after him. Soon afterwards Shane and I ride a rollercoaster. After that Ash rides the same ride a few times. So we each spent $30 those few things. I think me and Shane were burnt out from standing in line all weekend that the last thing we wanted to do was stand in line at an amusement park.
We left the park and went to where all the tourist stuff in Lake George is. We go to Frankensteins House of Wax. It is like a animatronic gag type haunted house. It was fun, Ash was sorta scared though. The coolest part was towards the end you walk down this hallway and the walls are spinning so it makes you think that you are spinning and it is hard to keep your balance. I think that Shane is going to build an addition on to our house just to have one of those.
We ate dinner. Drove home. It took FOREVER to get home. I fell asleep.
--------------------------------------------------------------
so yeah...that was my last day of excitement, at least that i can remember.
since then i have.......
*gotten a new tattoo, i havent taken any pictures of it yet, the outline is finished, now Oriana needs to come over and finish it
*i have started making my Halloween costume. at first i was excited about it, now i dont even want to finish it. when i pictured it in my mind i was picturing it on me about 4 years back before Ash and not on my mom body. it just isnt working..grrr..
*i went to a funeral yesterday. one of Shanes friends died in a motorcycle accident. it was very sad. yesterday i learned not to take what i have for granted, that some day i might wake up and Shane will not be there next to me. seeing Ally sitting next to her dead boyfriends coffin crying just fucking killed me, i never want to be in that situation. i have been pretty bummed since then!
yeah i think that is about it...unless i forgot something...which is possible....i dont have the best memory in the world!
