2009-Fourth of July spent in Philly with the lovely Rexx and others.
2010-Helping my friend move the last of his belongings out of his roach infested apartment in Newark.
Followed by drinking and shooting a .38 special off under the cover of fireworks and loud music.
2011...completely uneventful to this point. People have plans already. I don't know what I'd like to do but its not being at a BBQ, or at the Hudson waiting for the fireworks or any other massive gathering for fireworks. Can't do it this year.
Truth be told, I wish I knew exactly what would be awesome. So it doesn't bother me but I just realized that this is the first in the longest if not ever that I've been alone on July 4th. I don't mean to state it in a "woe is me" kind of way, it's just weird to realize it.
I always liked the 4th because it was one of those holidays when you knew it was going to be a good time. Not every holiday is like that. As previously stated (see prior post), people come and go and the rest are too volatile to even try to mix.
They say when you drink alone, you have a drinking problem. Does that count on holidays as well?
Doubt it.
Longing for something someone I suppose. Seeing as it is the 4th, I decided to go American today and bought some Miller Genuine Draft. I was going to go with the high life but something told me to go with MGD.
Reminds me of a girl from a few years back, same day I came back from Mexico. There she was, sitting on the drum throne in the garage holding a deuce deuce of MGD. She looked up and offered me one. It was pretty much a wrap after that. Never went anywhere though, one of those that just fades away.
Anyway, kicking it at home, wholesome lonesome by myself. I have some friends to keep my company. Mary Jane, Jameson, Smirnoff, Bukowski and Rand to finish off the guest list.
Third day in a row I've been on this site, feels good to be back although I miss the old days. Mexico is playing as well are my Mets. It'll be a good night regardless.
Hope everyone is living it up and having a great time. Happy Fourth.
