So I'm playing this show in LA on June 8th, and it's for a good charity. It's called One Night for India, it's an AIDS benefit basically, since India now has the second highest concentration of the virus in the world.

I'm playing with Karsh Kale, if anyone actually goes...

Holy shit. You list Jellyfish among your favourite bands. I just bought both their studio albums off of ebay this month.

Given your musical tastes, it is now clear to me that I would enjoy Aphex Twin and Autechre, if only I could find their CDs.

And where you been, anyway?

(sigh) I need to stop saying yes to to every gig that comes my way. i think i'm taking the freelance musician bit too far. i have to learn 3 cd's worth of material by monday. so much for a weekend.
dogslife:
My brother's the same way. He'll take weeks of consecutive gigs if the work's there for the taking--and he'll still make sure to get in a couple hours of practice every day. The guy's so disciplined he makes the Dalai Lama look like Pauly Shore.

What kind of music do you play, if I may ask?

This sounds a bit like somebody-or-other's rules for successful authors. The first rule is, "Learn how to turn down bad offers." The second rule is, "Learn how to turn down good offers."

If you've made it to the second rule, I'd say you're doing well!!! Hope it continues.
