I turn 23 tomorrow. This year, I'm getting the chance to do many things with the people I love to celebrate. I saw Godzilla last night with a good friend and my sweetie. Today, my grandma took me out for breakfast, I'm going to be playing League of Legends with my buddy @drummonkey50 and then going to a friend's house followed by birthday dinner with...

I just found your series of comic reviews, popped over, and saw it was your birthday.  So:  Happy belated Birthday!

Hey guys, I'm switching back to the written blog format to this week's comic review due to the fact that I did this over a span of a few days. I apologize it's taken so long to get this up. I may have to start doing a "top 10 comics of the week" review because I'm starting to get stretched a little thin.

Any of...

Shutter looks like it will be a great Sci - Fi/fantasy story. I've enjoyed both issues so far.

"I'm switching back to the written blog format "  better for me- no lag!  "Starlight #3"  Sounds good!  "Ragdoll is a villain I have not encountered before but apparently he's been around forever."  I think he dates back to the Golden Age.

As the headline states, I am completely overwhelmed with all of the love on my new set and my page. I can honestly say I was not expecting such a positive response. Thank you to all of my new followers and to those who have been with me over these few months on the first leg of my journey as a Hopeful.

It's hard waiting...

You are simply delicious - and you're smart. To some fans, that's not far from being a deity!
mrwaverly:
Oh, I love your first set - especially the shots where you are laughing; you really are laughing, aren't you, 'cos you kind of light up with the fun, an absurdity of the situation you're in. And that is wonderful to see. xxxxx

It's May Day and it's truly beginning to feel like summer (well, it's seventy degrees now and summer will be 100 degrees+, but still...). Today I'm thrilled because my sweetie and I are off to Portland to see Modest Mouse at the Crystal Ballroom! This is my second time seeing them but it's the boyfriend's seventh time. They put on a completely different show each...

As it turns out, I really love doing video blogs and I love answering your questions! If you have any questions for me, anything at all, please just ask and I'd be happy to answer them in my video blog. If it's something I'm uncomfortable with I may not answer but I'm a fairly open book. It can be about anything, SG or otherwise.

Bring...

Okay here's a tough one. Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?! Haha I'm kidding. Name some comic book talents you'd like to have dinner with.

I woke up today to find my page had over 300 followers! I want to take a moment to thank you all for your love and support. Without all of your conversations, my time here on SG would not mean nearly as much so thanks. I'm sorry I haven't responded to messages over the last week or so. I promise I still soon!

Hey guys! This is my first blog after coming back from Emerald City Comic Con. I posted a blog about that earlier in the evening. Check it out.

I still haven't caught up on sleep, but eventually I'll get there.

Here's my stack of comics for the week:

I started off with Trillium, as it was the final issue in the series.

Trillium #8

I'm really enjoying Black Science and Pretty Deadly. Veil is really good too. I stick the floppies mostly. If I do a trade its usually for a story that came out years ago.
legman:
"Starlight #2"   Looking forward to it!  "She-Hulk #3"  It'll be hard for him to live up to the Dan Slott run on the book.  " Sex, death, death cults in the Vatican"  So, it's like the REAL Vatican!   "Do you prefer reading single issues or collected editions? "  I like em both!  TPBs are more convenient, but I'm nostalgic for the individual issues!  And I wish people would STOP calling them "floppies".  GEEZ!

This past weekend was Emerald City Comic Con over in Seattle. This convention is the one vacation I take each year and it is something I look forward to for months beforehand. Everyone does Comic Con differently and we did it by loading our car up with 5+ short boxes filled with books and single issues to get signed. We left the house just after...

@legman Stan Sakai is okay but his wife has been having some serious health problems from what I understand.

Hey guys. This is going to be a rather short edition of the Tuesday night blog. I've been a bit out of sorts healthwise over the last couple of days so I'm going to call it an early night. I may not mention each comic but I will share my overall thoughts on some that really stood out this week.

Alex + Ada

This comic...

"a written blog"  yes- videos don't always work!

I agree with @drummonkey50. I think that written peppered with occasional video when something really special comes up would be a good approach.

Happy New Comic Book Day Eve (Happy NCBDE?) to you all!

I'm coming at you this week from my couch, which is the ugly thing pictured under my stack of comics. There are only two NCBDs until I will be over in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con. This is my third year going and I am super excited. My boyfriend and I got so

@legman Yeah, our store bags and boards everything, new and back issue alike.  We spend several hours making enough bags and boards for the next comic shipment.  I do the same thing at home and tend to have a set of bags and boards on hand in case I acquire anything that is not bagged or boarded. It's nice to hear how many people are liking Lazarus, I've been so happy with that book.
