AGING GRACEFULLY
By no means, am I trying to say the lady here that I am speaking of is in any way "past her prime". But there is a magic to Cate Blanchett (and in many woman who hold themselves in the same regard) that I find entirely captivating and mesmerizing. It's their outlook on true beauty, the natural progression of age and what it represents in a woman (or even a mans) life.
Cate ages gracefully.
She chooses to care for herself (as well as not opposed to those who choose cosmetic surgery and the such) and her body while letting it show the marks that life brings it.
A few words from Cate in a recent interview that helps represent my point:
"When you've had children, your body changes; there's history to it. I like the evolution of that history; I'm fortunate to be with somebody who likes the evolution of that history."
"I think it's important to not eradicate it (speaking of overuse of plastic surgery). I look at someone's face and I see the work before I see the person...."
We are kind of like grand oak trees... walk with me on this one for a second; a sapling is a cute little tree but can you really categorize it with the beauty of the same tree when you've seen it grow and thrive decades later? Each mark and curve in its branch represents the path it has taken in its life, its movement over the years to reach for the sun. That is natural beauty, at least to me.
Its funny, this was really just going to be a short blog to say how amazingly beautiful I find Cate and how she now definitely owns the most beautiful woman in the world title in my book. I've always found her beautiful, but as she ages, that beauty just grows and grows.

I think Kate Winslet is aging gracefully, too. She's prettier now than in Titanic.
