The Lie of Democracy:"The promise of Freedom lurks just beyond that ledge, my son. Have you the courage to make the plunge? Shall we go together? You first. I'll be right behind you."Consider the reverence with which we look back upon the Founding Fathers of our democratic republic. Many of them owned slaves. Future generations, if they shall exist, may well look back upon us and scoff at the ways in which we have sold ourselves to that ideal for a pittance and convinced ourselves that it has ever existed beyond our imaginations. Today, the wage-worker is still the slave.Assumptions abound on this subject. These are niether innate axioms of the human mind, nor are they immutable laws of human nature. They are taught at considerable expense and learned at exorbitant cost. This insidious craft first begets life within the emotions. Lust, hatred, and frustration fuel its machinations and weaken our resistance to its evil brood. Its monstrous progeny traverse the serpentine paths of our myriad desires, expand their influence in our perverse reason, and yoke the will with isolation and forgetfulness.The GREAT LIE of Representative Democracy is that it necessarily nurtures Freedom. Freedom is something else, something we are never taught, and something which cannot be learned. Freedom is known to children before they have learned the rules. Democracy and Freedom are not bound together of necessity. It is a marriage of convenience. Democracy, by definition, is a subordination of the will of the individual to the  will of the "majority". When has the "majority" ever spoken with a clear voice? Who is that majority? Who is represented most by a Representative Democracy?  Freedom, by definition, is not subordinate. Freedom is nurtured only by rebellion.Freedom is niether a gift from GOD above nor a prize for brave men to win from evil men through perseverence. No vote can completely sway the WILL. No man can "fight the good fight" and emerge the victor.  Security is not the antithesis of freedom. Freedom is niether academic nor economic. It is that innate thing within, born of pure humanity. Posessing no life of its own, it cannot be killed. However, being niether a fundamental principle of human life, nor a necessary condition for human society, it can be excised. It may go the way of the appendix or the vestigial tail.
