Helped fill the roomie's SUV all full of boxes of Jonny's and my stuff today. It's Champaign or bust.
I have a lot of hopes about Champaign. I don't even really know what the town's about, mostly. I mean, i know it's a college town, and i know they have a kickass costume shop, and i know they have *gasp* gay bars... but i don't know if i exactly LIKE it there. I'm only going because staying here isn't an option and going there is our only option.
I hope that i'm going to be able to make friends there. Because either because of my social snobbery (not interested in drunk physical/verbal violence) or because the people around here legitamately SUCK, i have not made a single lasting friend in Normal, Il.
I hope finding a job near my house won't be difficult, because winter is coming and i don't have a car, and i hate winter.
I hope i find lots and lots of cool things to do because i have a touch of the seasonal depression and winter sucks all the more when i'm bored with life.
I hope Jonny doesn't have a big problem with living in a room with me again. He swears he won't, that he just needs a private corner, but it's still on my mind.
I hope i get along with our housemates, i've only met one so far (the guy letting us rent the room) and he seems really nice and excited about us. I don't know him as well as Jonny, but Jonny says he's really cool.
I hope we have a door by the time we move in.
I hope the DSL house dude says he's planning to get, is gotten by the time we get there. That would be a bonus.
Things have just GOT to be better there than they are here. I don't care if we starve a bit, i don't care that i might have to stay behind a week for my court date while Jonny's setting us set up there (god, i'll miss him), i just don't care, as long as we're not here, and i have a change of scenery and new air to breathe.
This just in, we have TWO, count them TWO months' rent covered. Jonny (yay Jonny) just got his paycheck and we have enough and then some. Then we both get paid thursday from the gas station (mine fulltime, his part [so very part] time). We can afford to have clean clothes tonight!! Someone strike up the band!
w00t.
w00t indeed.
