As to your question the other day, the reaction to the Olympics announcement was disappointment and naturally radio-call-in-show conspiracy-theorizing about the "Anglo-Saxons" and cover stories about how everything was going well for Tony Blair.
Then the next day, the usual sympathy you would expect, as far as I could tell.
However, I didn't have any direct personal conversations with anyone on either topic.

After much deliberation and ideas that ranged from the fascinating to the ludicrous, we finally have a name for our new dog. Now we just need to pick her up on Saturday.
