Actually I do do something about it. Normally I try to purchase tickets directly from the source of the show. Or if that doesn't work I'll check ticketweb first, because although they too charge a fee it's not quite as large as ticketmaster's. And remember back in the 90's when Pearl Jam tried to fight them and lost? Ah that was a fun little battle but ultimately we are all doomed by big conglomeraions in America.
My preferred alternative to Tickemaster is booking and promoting my own shows in my city, non-profit, putting a lot of time and effort into giving people music without the means of Ticketmaster and ridiculous ticket prices. I feel that I've done my fair share.
