I can't believe we're spending most of this week in two different classes for basic screenwriting. I mean, I'm no pro, and it is useful to recap this stuff every year, but damn. Then again, we did get to study Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers and Alien today, so that was okay.

Handed in my concepts for this year's short film. My 3 ideas all involve people coping with death for some reason. I think it's because this is our final year, and right now I really can't bear to think about what'll happen after we all leave. I guess it's apt that that my short film (widely thought of as one's crowning piece for the entire course) would deal with issues of separation and loss. We'll see.

I savoured the moment of my face actually being on a movie screen in public the other night. The best film I saw in our heat was from a team that got the Fairy Tale genre - granted, they had special effects and costumes, but it was the writing that won me over. In comparison, our film The Adventures of Cheesy Man seemed lacklustre, but it was still one of the better ones. I'm so doing the 48 Film Festival next year.
