Just a short one as I'm really sad and don't feel like writing much...
but, my beloved cat that was only 7 months old, well... I found him dead at the side of the road yesterday morning. He'd been hit by a car. :*( I can't believe it! I live in the middle of the countryside too! It's so not fair!!!
Well, I haven't bored myself to death yet, so that's always a good sign. I was writing about music and architecture in The Varsity while attending the University of Toronto. Sparks was playing at the El Mocambo, a ridiculous but well known club at the time, and I was so offended when the promoters treated me like royalty, minus only the curtsying, that I never accepted another free ticket again. The issue was the contrast with what the paying customers, who I completely identified with, were subjected to, being herded like farm animals when they had made the concert possible by their willingness to buy tickets.
At one point, Ron Mael very slowly and solemnly intoned "I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, that this is the widest club I have ever been to." Imagine a long hallway with an alcove halfway along its length where the stage is and you have the El Mocambo. I could see very well from my table in the centre but others, not so much!
Do you have Kate's 1979 Christmas special by any chance?
Life's pretty great at the moment, got myself a little pup called Flynn, he's 3months old and fucking RAD!!!!
Although he's such a lot of work, it's like having a baby!! He follows me everywhere and cries a lot. He misses his brothers and sisters I think, so I'm giving him lots of cuddles and playing with him all the day....
Ah, Wolfi, I mean I was married once, so attended my own wedding haha - it didn't work out but it's all experience!
And I now have a date to start working in London, 16th July. Hurrah! Its such a beautiful city, with lots of galleries and parks and hidden woods...perfect for a Wolfi to explore.
I feel exactly the same about work, and am exactly the same with money. But we're both pretty cool, no? So I reckon we shouldn't worry too much. And please don't have anyone kick your bum. It's too nice!
Hello hello! So Osmoz and John D came to stay!! And we had a fucking awesome time!!
We did ourselves hand made tattoos using Indian ink and sewing needles... Tribal style!
And then we went to Bretagne for the weekend and stayed in a moulin! We drank red wine and ate freshly court spider crabs and mackerel...Not a big fan of the crabs, as there's... Read More
I'd go out courting with you sir! Sounds nice. Tell me next time you come to France and we can meet up!!...
Of all my years on SG, your last comment was perhaps the sweetest, most wonderful one I've ever read. Sorry it's taken me a few days to reply - I just haven't known how to say thank you!
You're right - I have alopecia. I've only had it for a year and a half, but I have it everywhere. There is not a single hair on my body. Apparently it probably won't grow back, but I can handle that. I think your friend is amazing to deal with it coming or going. It's made life easier for me that I know this is the look I have now. I have a saying, "style it out", which I try and do. Sometimes I hate the way I look, but most of the time I think its quite cool. Its very cool for you to say that I'm beautiful inside and out - and you're right, I LOVE HATS.
I would love a Wolfi hat - it would be a cherished possession. One day, when you have the time, you'll need to tell what sort of wool you require. It is an exceptionally kind offer, especially when you're so extraordinarily stylish. Super-cool. And so thoughtful!
I can think of no-one better to go to a gig with, we'd totally rock our hats together. One day, when I come vist France, or you return to England, I will take you to a gig
I'm good today, thank you. Much better for your friendship. How are you?
