This is Kkao San Road, ground-zero for newbie backpackers. I came into town yesterday to spend a couple days shopping for souvenirs. It's a crazy chaotic place to be, and really not terribly desirable, but it's a great place to find cheap gifts to mail home.
Anyway, as is the case, I had to go walk around and explore some temples, like this one. Looks boring, eh?
And then I went up to the Golden Mount temple. This was the best photo I could get of it form below, as it's surrounded by so many buildings and trees.
This is the view from atop the mount. As you can see, Bangkok is an incredibly flat city.
And then after that I headed over to Chinatown for more shopping and some good fried chicken.
Anyway, that's how things are going. Tomorrow I head to the deep south, though I'm still undecided as to exactly where...
