Why do we allow people to remake films?
I mean, we don't allow people to rewrite novels.
We don't let people repaint paintings.
So why the fuck must someone stick their grubby hands in Psycho or The Omen? Why must American film companies go "let's make (insert great Asian/European film here) for American audiences!" Why? Why?
It's not like covering a song -- where it's considered a sign of respect, and by nature, a good song can only be ruined by messing with the song itself -- and yet, Hollywood and directors continue to throw their ideas of a classic movie on screen, ruining many people's view of it.
Sad. I hate Hollywood, yet I want to work there one day. Oh, the irony.
