When Stephen King once wrote of the act of creating, "sometimes it feels like shoveling shit from a sitting position", he wasn't kidding.

You work and work and work and work and it feels like nothing you're doing is working the way it should. Like it all isn't going to work out. Even (and maybe especially) when you're doing nothing more than revising the work....

Oh dear, I think I've forgotten how to blog. Like, blog like normal people do.

I think the first step is to tell people inane things: for example, I spent Monday, from 8 to 9 PM, going between feeling like I was dying and actually dying as I puked up things and saw the world through a red filter. It was not fun. You can...

See you when I've read the entire backlog of news history, suckers.

This is not my beautiful house!
This is not my beautiful wife!

Oh, c'mon. You wish you could do what David Byrne tells you, too. Tells you to. Huh. Both are correct. That's weird. Homonyms don't usually do that.

Also, according to e-mails I'm too dumb to check, I (or someone)...

Nerd post:

I've been thinking recently about the game systems. Specifically whether or not the Wii, in the end, is worthwhile. Because, yes, it's going to change the way to interact with games, but what about the games themselves? The system is launching with Twilight Princess. Yes, this is awesome. But it also might be Nintendo inadvertantly shooting themselves in the foot. If it is...

Disagree all you want, but I think you are looking through some rose-colored glasses.

Did she choose to have the baby? Well, yes. Kinda. I notice that her gynecologist never once offered her an option for anything else, though.

"Debbie runs her relationship"- and she's miserable. Until she gets, quite litterally, told what her place is. In which case she suddenly becomes much happier.

And as for Allison helping Ben grow up- there's a great message. Hold onto that jobless loser, honey. You love will surely save him. After all, presented with the challenges of parenthood, men always rise to the occasion, so don't let that be a concern when deciding the fate of you or your unborn child!

Oh- and "regular people"? The flawless blonde VJ?

Sorry, I stick to my guns on this one.

Snakes on a Plane was so good! When we were leaving the theater on opening weekend, we passed folks who were bringing stuffed animal snakes with them to watch the show. I was jealous.
