Ah. Life in a small Hollywood office. Today, I've played around on Facebook, made new friends, worked on my own screenplay and watched "Flight 93" as a director's submission for a film we have. Such a tough life...
Though, perhaps the most important thing that I did today is purchase, in advance, my tickets for Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince next Wednesday night! I'm pretty excited. I know, I'm a grown man, I shouldn't get excited about this. BUT, I'm also a grown nerd, and this is what nerds do, no matter what age. We get excited about stupid shit like Harry Potter and Comic Books and Battlestar Galactica. The only difference between a young nerd and a grown nerd is that grown nerds have their own money to spend on their nerdy interests. So, I've got that going for me.
And, can I just gripe for a moment here? Of course I can. My blog. Production coordinating a low budget web series sucks balls. You can't pay anyone, so you have to work around their schedules, and you don't have a lot of money, so your hands are tied to cheap alternatives or favors. Curse you Economics!! I may be bald by the end of this entire process. Which would be a shame. According to my mother I have beautiful hair.
So, a note on "Flight 93". It is about the plane that was hijacked on September 11th and the passengers took the plane back under control, thereby causing it to avoid hitting it's intended target of either the White House or the Capital building. It's gut-wrenchingly sad. Jesus Christ. Passengers call their loved ones from the plane and talk about their impending doom. And then it shows the loved ones, on the ground, devastated at the call. That's a majority of the movie. It's definitely well done; but fuck me, it's emotionally exhausting.
Tonight, I catch an improv show. Tomorrow, I play around. Sunday...I don't know. I'll end up doing something after I get out of bed.
If you read this blog. I love you.
