Perhaps first off, I have DarkRabbit's contact info for anyone who'd care to write a letter or ten. If you're interested in sending a book, have a recommendation for one or would care to donate to the cause of weekly book deliveries, drop a note in my 'contact' tab. Our boy is doing well enough though bored out of his mind. Hopefully the five 750+ page books should help by some small measure.
Today was good in the grand sense of things. I partnered up w/ one of my residents and took him to Special Olympics track & field practice. He being a social butterfly who seems to know half of the planet, or at least Connecticut, was in his element. Lots of cheering, tying of others' shoes and making sure everyone transfered between events smoothly.
Hanging out at the home's dining room table/occaisional office space, I realized I need to perform some major schedule wrestling... Not too long ago, I took over a second advocacy position for one of the guys in my house. Normally not a difficult feat but, I wasn't given any increase in office hours available for working on paperwork. I'm having to use odd scraps of time found to break from any direct support, haul out folders, charts and documentation tables and crunch out quality of life programs. Not terribly fair to either guy... Never having up-to-date aid, financial tracking or a teacher who's not pulling out hair.
In other news, things are looking...stressful, odd, trying and curious in lining something up by our lease's end. The hope was to make bold use of our home loan and sweep into a condo this month. Uh, not happening... The units that had been mentioned as near too good to be true either were just that -or- so amazing that another party beat us to the punch. Hopefully we'll have happier, more promising news to report soon.
