Vacation life is good...don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Sleeping late had been an art lost to me until this past week off. Rising at ten, jumping in a warm shower, throwing on enough clothes to walk down the street and grab a cup of coffee. Today an enjoyable variant on some of the projects of recent...slack, nothing but.
I received an e-mail from a former supervisor at the bookstore I'd helped run w/ him. I'd been previously been informed that this mall bookstore was being decommissioned and wanted to stop by for old times' sake. The treat I'd discovered upon walking in was everything in the entire store was on sale for 50% off! "Danger Will Robinson! Danger!" I made polite conversation, catching up on happenings and was informed of an art show opening tonight featuring the talents from Lovecraft Tattoo. I then ransacked what was left the graphic novels, fiction, history, music and cooking sections. I tapped out by my second trip to the counter dropping off what was too heavy to carry. Between the 50% and an additional 'super-secret former employee with good taste in books' discount, I made out with a couple hundred dollars in reading for 77 clams!
It also seems that I will be attending tomorrow's SGNY Open Call! Plans for my Boston trip folded for the time being, most likely until mid-May. This will necessitate calling Laerkai and DarkRabbit to huddle on what the Fairfield county contingent will be planning. This means check back in the not-so-distant future for pictures!

Is this 50% off sale still going on? I too am a sucker for discounted reading material.
