Eeek! It feels like I haven't updated in near forever for, I haven't... D'oh! Work and time away from work has kept me busy. Busy in the sense that I run around, perform errands of some significance at the time but, in hindsight, immemorable. At work, this week served as the first week of major staffing changes. Usually such upheavals are dramatic and cause for group home resident dissent. The changes have been promoting and hiring of quality residential teachers who 'get it'. My training them will soon pick up to speed and will allow me and my supervisor some administrative breathing room. And when I say 'breathing room', I also mean vacation time.
Earlier this week, I had to return my iPod to Best Buy...again. When this happened for the first time 2+ months ago, I'd thought that the Protection Plan I'd purchased along w/ it was a rip-off. It covered servicing, not replacing and seemed as pseudo bait & switch tactics. The second time around, I breathed a sigh of somewhat relief. What ever the problem is, it's not my problem to fix and if it actually happens again, I get a brand new replacement. A good start for having to miss my usual constant listening to music at work and in the car.
Last night was a somewhat spontaneous show at Flux at Gotham Citi... There was a submissive slave auction being held and the mission was to wrangle enough 'Flux Bucks' together to buy Allied a li'l someone to warm his lap. Through public acts of humorous humiliation (and my constant self-kicking for not having brought my camera), the group scored $5500 or so together. Sadly even that wasn't enough to turn heads in SGCT's direction - The bidding was way out of our league. So until next time, we have a delightful addition to someone's Monoploy set.
Since it's now sadly a 'No-Go' for SGNY's Anti-Valentine event, I'm not sure what I'll be up to this weekend... It's payday so bills will be squared off leaving hopefully dough for a random get together w/ a few folk. Most likely, ElmCityDrunk, DarkRabbit on Monday and SmokingBuddha when his schedule permits. Perhaps more then, friends.

correct me if i'm wrong, my friend, but doen't best buy have a 90-day return policy anyway? and isn't there a 1-year manufacturer's warranty?
i once bought a (rather pricey) 5-year extended warranty on a 5-disc cd changer from circuit city. i had to force myself to extract it from my stereo set every year or so to bring it in for cleaning/maintainence, as it covered by my extended warranty. felt like i had to get my money's worth. so i was without cd-playing capabilities for longer than it seemed necessary while they "cleaned" my cd changer. i tried to coordinate these occasions around the time i would move, so as to minimize the hassle it created for me. eventually the extended warranty expired... and the damn cd changer played perfectly for like 15 years anyway!!
when i worked for staples i ran the electronics dept. selling those extended warranties was always a priority for the corporate bobble-heads. (100% profit margin, anyone?) and here i was always down-selling customers: "no, sir, don't pay $600 for that MS-Office package. you already have MS-Works pre-installed, right? all you need is the $99 Office Upgrade." corporaate retail is not for me.
every so often someone makes good on an extended warranty and thank god, cause it ends up saving time, money, hassle and it's totally worth it. i suggest you play Powerball before your luck changes
