Hmm...so yeah, snow. I have nothing against it other than driving in it or shoveling the stuff. As I was doing both of those, it makes me think back to living in Boston where I did neither and reveled in it.
Last night was the opening party for my dear friends' new tattoo parlor. All of the artists have migrated from Studio Zee. As they were the reason that parlor ranks as one of the state's highest, I won't be too surprised if the trend continues. I was finally able to talk to my artist, Christian, about the Mucha painting I've been drooling over. He suggested that I bring in the piece to allow him to start drawing up and prepping the piece to better save time (smart man). ElmCityDrunk and I put our heads together and reckon we'll head over at the same time and pay a social & business call.
Due to the horrible plowing jobs on my street, I was forced to park about a block away from my apartment. Recently, the rental agency started cracking down on off-street parking and putting up signage threatening car tows, etc. I called today to see what permits were necessary through them to park back there. It seems that all that was needed was car documentation proving such things and a rear-window stickie would be granted. Happily I dashed down there, slapped the dealie in my window and claimed a freshly plowed spot 25 feet from my back door.
The only bad thing to come of this is now my dear AP is forced onto the street, target for ticketing. The poor girl's picked up 3-4+ since we've lived here and even once stole her car back from the tow company who'd removed it from the street. Well the new permitting will probably act as the straw on the camel's back for her to finally re-register her car to New Haven. And as I've unburied her car from two and a half feet of snow, I don't want her to get plowed in again! WelnTaod hates shovelling snow! *roars, snarls and foams at the mouth*
Today's plans involve hanging out w/ DarkRabbit and stealing a mini-van to reclaim Asteroids. 5-6 years ago when the ever-greyed AmazonRed13 and I were dating, we rescued a cocktail videogame cabinet of Asteroids...the kind of game you'd be most likely to see in a pixxa parlor in California circa 1983. It wasn't quite functional but knew it wouldn't take much to get it up and running. Anyhow, she is in dire need of floorspace in her new abode and decided to hand in over to the person who first helped her carry a block and up two flight of stair to her flat. As a visual reference, I've included a shitty picture pulled from the internet.
The only other things upcoming are rescheduling a board committee review for a client of mine later in the week... There's bound to be some degree of friction between my boss and myself but, he will also understand the necessity. I'm unprepared due to lots of paperwork that was due to be turned into me by other people and it's not, period. At least the day coincides with payday and when I should be getting my W-2's in for tax number crunching.
