What a busy fucking 24 hours! It's 5ish and I woke up at 3 after a nap. I could complain about being sleep deprived but, that'd hint that fun wasn't had, things could've done better. Nope, I think everyone had an amazing time! It also clearly pointed out how close NYC and Boston are in relation to our li'l state. If we're lacking enormity of events, members and people excited to come out to participate, at least we have the ability to join others in such things. Non?
My day started w/ spinning wheels at the Goodwill a few doors down from where I was to receive a far overdue haircut/shubbery pruning. Excuses for popping in at this particular location are frequent. It's a local hotbed for Yalies and other dim bulbs to drop en masse computer equipment too heavy to take home on break or upon graduation (My heart swells at the thought of some Trumbull College princess receiving a new Dell from Daddy upon graduation. There's no need for that two year old model, it's so 2002! ) Anyhow, I was able to pick up a mint 19" Dell monitor for $20. I can pass down the 17" to the 'puter I'm peripherally assembling for DarkRabbit. I sit so close to my desktop that I'm likely to go blind due to the size of the thing...
I think Laerkai has a pretty accurate description of our late night/very early morning... No need to type twice. What struck me about the whole night (and what kept ECD and myself giggling about) was our harshly illustrated layer of irony to everything. Case in point: We decide to skip taking the last train out of the city @ 1:30-ish am. We instead to pick up the 5:40 and get back for a groggy 7:50. Only after the next series of 'adventures' (including striking out on hanging out more with the terribly cool JaiDee), we head back to the subway to make our to Grand Central. We quickly discover that due to construction, we have to head in the opposite direction a num ber stops first. Not a problem until through a sleepy haze ECD realizes that because of this, we'll miss our train out and we'd have an additional 11/2 hours to kill until the next one. D'oh!
Happily it all worked out... Everyone caught a number of winks, plugged in to tunes and aid from a rocking train. After this update, I plan on dropping comments to all of the amazingly cool SGNY members I met, smoked and swore with. What few pics I nabbed will be posted to SGCT at some point today or tomorrow. Fair enough?
