After driving GrumpyBear home last night, I was preparing myself for a life back to reporting to work on Thursday mornings... I was convinced I'd be hungover, dragging my ass, clinging to my coffeecup as a life preserver. As it turned out, it wasn't like that at all. It was actually quite good!
Thursdays now have me working with one of my group home residents who's employed by New Haven's Parks & Recs dept. He works alongside the town's Riverkeeper crusing the varied coastlines for tires, shopping carts and the like. Today we worked at Dover Beach Park near Ex. 8 off I-91. We walked the length checking out nearby pier developments as well as local construction traffic and trash.
We were let off work early and used the time to grab lunch & drinks and held a small picnic in East Rock Park. My charge was armed with boxes of raisins, lunchmeat and an apple. I was beaming finding a stretch to enjoy a grinder while devouring the new issue of the New Haven Advocate. We hiked about we were due back at the house for coffee and a managerial meeting.
Tonight for some odd reason my iTunes has crapped out in a big way! I tried ripping an old mix CD I'd made some time ago. The last song failed and the computer struggled to read a improperly written track. Once the computer recognized the program wasn't responding, I forcibly closed the program and it hasn't worked since. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail. Depnding on how much of a project I'd care to make this, I may revert my drive using Go Back. *grumble*
Well, many thanks to the usual cast of characters at ElmCityDrunk's last night... I hope we're able to get together over the weekend for something, anything... I'm not a big Halloween person after having them ruined in the past. The death of one of my best friend looms large in that department. I'd be up for enjoying the company of others, which is something that happily happens a good deal.
